Here is hoping for an FM transmitter since they will be metal..

Also, I hope Nokia has learned their lesson.. when you leave the phone on it's back, the edge of the camera hump gets scratched over time.. I hope those metal plates are more durable than the ones on the n8 / 808

But that's a different metal case compared to the one we have already seen. The camera island is much smaller.

I think they've got more than one up their sleeve judging by these shots.

Same as Lumia 920. 808 Pureview is 17.95 mm thick. Close to 3 times the size of the thinnest smartphone availble today. Let's hope the Nokia EOS will be thinner

I hope Nokia put a larger battery in the EOS than the 2,000mAh one in the 920. A 2,000mAh battery is ok in my Lumia 720 with a WVGA screen but with 720p and all that camera tech inside perhaps not. But WP8 is very battery efficient though. Fitting in a large battery and that large camera sensor i don't see it being Samsung GS4 thin but that doesn't bother me i would still buy it. I prefer a man phone

Its 17 at the camera .. 14 across.

Its smaller than the 920

The 808 is:

6.4 mm shorter
10.6 mm narrower
3.2 mm thicker
16 grams lighter
3.5 cc smaller in terms of overall volume

Right now Nokia is in a tumultous time, not unlike HTC's excellerating and rapid profits and revenu 80 degree DROP in the last year. Making too many models of the same phone too similar will only hurt sales of them ALL and Nokia cannot afford that right now ... not in the short nor the long run. Nokia should be doing a simple 3 tier market.

Low - multiple colours
Mid - decent svelt design great on features and functionality while adding style.
Top - pure premium: quality materials, build quality (even exotic), and proper distribution channels where they CAN and currently THRIVE!

lastly, seek partnerships with Project(RED) and Breast Cancer society make limited edition runs of products in the mid/top tier which will help their Brand Name Recognition to be much stronger and help in reducing global TAXES (right offs, or helping defer taxes to a great extent). Remember taxes is fees taken before evaluating any profit. I tried suggesting this to the largest BB fan site editor in chief over at CrackBerry and even to all of BlackBerry's blogs, my own, and to BB support over twitter ... not 1 single response nah/yeah/not feasible whatever. To this date NO cellphone company has done either in any of their products, Apple has with their iPod Classic and Nano/Mini iPod but nothing else. We all have mothers, many have sisters(or sisters-in-law) and some have daughters breast cancer is a serious disease and the #1 killer of women today globally. The funny part in no response from BlackBerry is - 53% of BB's purchased is by women, not men. Duh BlackBerry!!

Ok ... so what do we know of this phone ... is metal casing confirmed on this Nokia?

What?? Nokia doesn't have too many models the same. You only gotta look at Samsung and Sony for that. Even if some have similar specs they are not all the same price and looks wise. As for hurting sales, not true. Nokia recently had 4 out of the top ten on Expansys US chart. Also their 520/620 models are selling really well.

Right.. thanks to Nokia Windows Phone and Microsoft's mobile OS endeavor will actually survive. Despite the fact the OS is gaining fractional market share, is WAY more than ever before. The adoption rate is also much higher than any of the previous Microsoft efforts.

Without Nokia, Microsoft would be out in the cold.. because its not that Nokia won't be with them, but they will be against them if they chose the QT/MeeGo plan or went with google spyware.

Bono, Expansys US doesn't show US sales number. It's just the US version of Expansys UK i.e. number of phones ordered in the USA from Expansys UK. The unlocked smartphone market in US is miniscule and out of that miniscule percentage Expansys is just a tiny dot.
