Hey I just checked the info about JDI on Wikipedia and i got to this point
JDI will also actively conduct research and development into next-generation panel technology such as OLED displays.
So I wonder, those OLED display we will see in H2 2013 devices will be produced by JDI or other manufacturers?? |

Okay now, I'm one standing in shock and speechless. Android 4.1 were introduced back in July 2012 and yet we Sony supporters have to wait 8 months or more depend on global schedule rolls out. This is not funny.
I hope something maybe wrong or typo, but it's product blog which represent as official channel of Sony Mobile.

Me too, i was shocked to see this =.=
It would be better if they can release stock Android update for those 2011 devices (without time scape) |

Now we see why it's so retarded to flood the market with phones. Xperia U and Sola not even getting JB? |

They probably delayed the Xperia U and Sola upgrade. Maybe they want to do something about the floating touch and the magical colour bar? |

Weren't manufacturers (Sony included, of course) given the Platform Development Kit from Google so that they could port the latest Android version on their devices much faster? What happened to Sony then? |

Damn!
Silly move by Sony to be honest. But then, they're updating more phones than any other OEM. Disappointed, but I'm on the verge of updating my phone anyway (Ray is beautiful, but ultimately, far too small) so its not really going to make a huge difference to me.
Maybe, if we stopped bitching about this on forums and made a point to Sony themselves, they may actually do something about this. Crying and circlejerking about it for the next few days will achieve nothing.
EDIT:
Also Carriers ruin everything for everyone (Ahem O2 not upgrading their 2011 Xperia users to ICS), so they have a little blame to shoulder themselves.
EDIT:
Inb4 Mediar comes here and admonishes us as usual.
(Notice he only posts when something negative surrounding Sony occurs, never here when there is good news)

Not all the manufacturers were given the Development Kits from Google. There were speculations that Sony was one of them.
Google reports that "select" manufacturers have already been granted a chance to try out the PDK with the release of Jelly Bean - we'd assume ASUS and Motorola are among their ranks, if not Samsung and HTC. Hopefully the group isn't too "select" - I think we'd all like to see faster updates on our devices.
Based on the above, Sony probably got the Dev Kit for 4.2 early on but not for 4.1. |

That would be a bit of a joke considering Sony contributes code to AOSP.... |

Chill guys. 2012 Xperia devices are getting JB this year starting with S/Acro S in 2-3 weeks. U and Sola will also be getting JB.
Only the T/TX/V JB upgrade is delayed till Q1 2013. The same story as earlier this year when Xperia S received ICS AFTER 2011 devices.
@Aurelius
Kindly confirm the above or else some people are gonna start bashing Sony on this thread for nothing |

Well, let's see then.
Just my very first reaction, hope that not count as bashing
Anyway, I'm still happy with my bugs-free ICS, but I wouldn't love to wait that long.

The fact that Xperia J will get the JB update is the evidence that all the 2011 devices would be capable for the update, because all those have nearly the same hardvare. This is only marketing.
I was always wondering why many people are so happy because of Sony bought out Ericsson from the joint-venture. It seems so that Sony's ICS updtate for 2011 phones were intentionally full of bugs (that's why I haven't even thought about updating my Xperia ray). On the software side their strength was Sony customised UI, but sadly Samsung's TouchWiz, and even LG's customization on Optimus G is getting to offer a better overall impression of the UI, because I don't see many improvement from Sony. For example they could have offered customizable theme too beyond the preset ones for an improvement. The camera of their phones haven't improved since 2011. And now even the Iphone 4S makes better pictures than all the 2012 Xperia models, whyle the first editions of the Iphone had one of the poorest camera features of its time. Not to mention that even HTC One X outperforms all Sony devices, and the Nokia pureview is far more superior. In this field I can't see any improvement since relapse of phones imaging after 2009, and the 2011-2012 Xperia phones' shots are often comparable with K750's overall image quality from 2005.
Now you can say that Sony's brand made SonyEricsson great, but that's not entirely true. For example the K750, one of their best selling phones, if not THE best selling didn't have any brand (except of the meaningless QuickShare). People bought this phone for the philosophy the K750 represented, and which was extremely innovative in 2005, namely the merge of phones and digital cameras. This reminds me the philosophy of Ericsson even from 2001, when they tried to offer all possible multimedia experiences with their 2001 models with the additional accesories. (See pictures below) The K800 completed the user experience of the K750 from the side of camera with the addition of Xenon flash , and was boosted the marketing also with the Cyber-Shot branding. But the phone was bulky, the video recording (maximal QCIF resolution) was slightly outdated in 2006, and some felt the absence of the LED light during video recording compared to the K750. Next year K850 was a failure. Many of the competition offered cameraphones wich were comparable, if not better, and the K850 arrived 1,5 years later. It's photos were blurry, the red on pictures was actually pink, and the pictures lacked the details, textures. One of the K850 reviews said, that the phone is great in all aspects, only the camera is quite poor except os the xenon flash. The Walkman phones after 2007 didn't offered in term os hardware or software any addition, and they had poor cameras. After a while they tried to sell phones with just the branding without focusing the features behind it, and so started to decline the selling of these phones. So not the SONY brands made SonyEricsson great, but the philosophy behind them, which Ericsson has also represented even in 2001.
And Nokia also can make good cameraphones in 2012 too, without Sony or Cyber-Shot branding.
I think with Nokia 808 Pureview's new impulse most of the competitors will release xenon flash equipped phones. But considering that Xperia phones are falling behind in terms of imaging Im not sure that we will see soon/ever an Xperia phone with outstanding camera quality.
You can be pleased because Sony took over the business, but in 2012 the only new features are the NFC or LTE in some models. But I can't see any improvement in features or user experience since the 2011 models. You can have your expectations, but in 2012 I haven't seen any groundbreaking from Sony. You can say that it's because they didn't managed to take over entirely the business, but I think after that the situation won't be better. By the end of 2013 I think we will see that those who were delighted will remain only with the expectations from Sony, and some of them will be satisfied even if Sony wont show any exceptional by than.
I'm sad. I had only Ericsson, or SonyEricsson phones (T20, T300, T310, K500, K750, K850, C901, Xperia ray). Sadly in the 2012 portfolio I can't find any phone wich would replace my ray with notable additional features, or with such a compact size. Furthermore after 6 months of using the ray I can still hardly get used to the downgrade of the camera (after my C901).
