guys, i went to hub glorietta kanina, grabe pinipilahan yung p800 to try and test it. ;-) made in sweden pala ang inu-offer nila. I'1ve tried to send an mp4 from globe unit to my unit via bluetooth kso di nya makita ang phone ko and vice versa... pero nadedetect naman ng phone ko at p8 unit ng globe yung bluetooth capable phones na nasa loob ng hub like 3650, 7650, etc.. Did you experience it to, the p8 to p8 bluetooth problem?

Although I have not experienced P800 to P800 bluetooth connection, I have tried connecting mine with a number of bluetooth devices without problems. I was able to connect my P800 to my desktop (with a dongle), my notebook (with another dongle), my friend's N7650, and another friend's N7650 and sent files (images, video, audio) to and from these devices.
@savant
If you buy a P800 and encounters the same problems posted in the other threads, don't get disappointed. Just have your unit replaced immediately. And try all the features as soon as possible to be able to detect a potential problem during the 7-day no hassle replacement period. Test everything. Sync with Outlook (depends on your PIM) using cable, IR, bluetooth. Browsing WAP over GPRS using the phone, browsing WAP over GSM using the phone (this will cost you on a per minute basis), using the phone as a wireless modem via cable, IR, bluetooth (this will cost you on a per kilobyte basis), using the phone as a dial-up modem using HSCSD (this will cost on a per minute basis), and send/receive MMS. My P800 was able to pass these tests with flying colors. Of course you have to test the basic functions like phone and PIM functions. Let me tell you frankly that based on posts here and other threads I could say that most P800 users, including me, have gone thru a replacement at least once (is this the reason why P800 is quite scarce). The reason why I needed a replacement is because the IR of my first unit fails when I use my P800 as a modem.
Goodluck. You've made the right decision. Get a P800 and be one of us.

To everybody:
Suggestion. Why don't we use the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) clients that can be downloaded from my-symbian.com http://my-symbian.com/uiq/applications/index.php for the P800 and start our online chat.
Currently, there are two available clients: SymIRC and ChatClient. For our use, SymIRC (with default server: irc.stealth.net), on the one hand, would be suitable because it allows us to have our own channel (e.g. #P800PHILS) but does not have a facility that lists users currently logged in. ChatClient, on the other hand, forces us to join the server provided by its author with all other users of the client but it has a facility that lists currently logged users.
So, when do we start?

We can start right away! I'd like to try it now. But first, I have to download the client, install & set it up.

@xilber I suggest we use SymIRC and setup our channel (#P800PHILS).

@P-boyz
what languages do you have installed on your phone?
gusto ko kasi mag-install ng ibang languages for character support, pero no language pack found in the "phone language" directory sa local drive. |

About P800 Firmware upgrades:
Is there a site (official or unofficial, although SonyEricsson should, at least, be the one to give us this information) detailing the updates for each version?? Sort of like a Firmware Version Update Details document.
We, as users of their phones, should be able to know exactly what's new in this version, what to look out for, what to try new, what the remaining bugs still are, etc. instead of just "knowing" that it somehow got better because of the upgrade but we don't know specifically what. |
