Miss UK i have the answer to that one. 2 of my brothers are on Orange and quite often when i get long texts from them i get that *some text missing*. What you need to do is when you recieve the text just stay in the text like when your reading it and it should keep updating itself. I have found that works. Sometimes it takes a min or two. Dont know why but it seems to be a problem with longer text with the 2 networks on GSM1800 i find anyway. So just read the text and stay in it and it should update with the rest of it.

it's a pain inda butt though often it doesn't update itself and ive got a message that makes no sense

ive changed from my 5300 to my N95-2 anyway so see if it works now

I've got a couple of quick O2 questions if someone could help. I'm currently 6ish months into a 12 month contract and have a dislike to my current phone (Samsung Tocco) and want a new one (C902)!

I've spoken to customer service and they've quoted me a reasonable ish price to buy one, £209.99, which will be a PAYG phone. I want to know if the brandings just like the phone would be if I'd upgraded? Told it would be but not sure? The only other option is fleabay!

And I'd also like to transfer my insurance from the Tocco to the new C902, anyone know if they'll do this?

Any helps much appreciated!

If it's an O2 pay as you go from direct from O2 (or in our stores too) then it'll be branded yes. More so than standard contract/upgrade ones, only in the fact it might have a small O2 sticker on it, comes in an O2 box and has a few O2 things on the phone such as start up shut down screens etc.

Your best bet is sell your Tocco for as much as you can get it for, go into your local store, and ask to buy the handset sim free with a 'simplicity' tariff as a new contract. Then, after 15 days, ring up and cancel the contract (it's a 30 day contract, so they'll cancel it), and you get to keep the phone at the same price as pay as you go, but it's unlocked and unbranded, unlike the pay as you go one.

thanks for the reply Daedalus85.

I went into me local store today and asked about what you said and was quoted £330 for a sim free phone along with a simplicity contrct, if they where allowed to do a sim free phone, which is a lot more than i wanted to pay really! Think i can live with the screen savers etc. its just the o2 on the actual phone body thats putting me off!

Can you confirm if there will be any branding on the actual phone body?

I take it thats on a PAYG handset? If so, has it got any o2 logos on the outside of the phone?

He will have to wait a month after connection to give 30 days notice to cancel on sim only. unless he cancels within 14 day grace period. they won't allow a cancellation on a sim only deal past 14 days untill the account has been active for atleast a month. then give 30 days notice to cancel.

You say that, but we've had customers (and staff) cancel after 14 days, but before 30 days, and they also get a full refund for their first bill if it's done soon enough.

I have just received a new bill with £70 odd of data charges. One of my friends told me about a deal with Orange where a 250mb data bundle is only £7.50 on Orang e premier. Does this sound correct, and can it be used with internet browsing, ie sending emails and browsing Safari on an iphone?

Thanks

On an iPhone? No, probably not, due to the lack of settings for it as it's not supported by Orange.

And O2 themselves do either Unlimited internet for £7.50 (3GB is a rough guide before they start ringing you, much better than that 250MB you just quoted), or they do the same for FREE with the iPhone on both pay as you go and contract, so wouldn't it make sense to be with O2?

Its just that all my phone on our business lines are with Orange and have been for circa 10 years. They seemed to think it was including general internet browsing.
