i think when you go into the camera or video viewer app then the graphics acceleration is actiavated and then probably the transistions occur too fast to look like transistions, it happens wen u turn on tweak peaks

Like everything else it seems much quicker, unfortunately because the damned backup wouldn't work I wasn't able to backup and restore my inbox so I don't know how it will cope with lots of messages yet.

The messaging app UI seems the same to me, which is already good IMO.

Speed seems to have improved, I have been sending myself emails for the last ten mins to try and get the inbox a bit fuller so I can get a good idea of the speed of it. So far (got a couple of screen fulls now) it seems that as you switch between views, such as when you open a message and then go back to the list, that the message list doesn't completely update like it used to. If it does, its doing it fast enough to not notice. The screen seems to re-draw, but its so much quicker than it used to be.

[EDIT] I have just noticed, when you have multiple items selected in the messaging app and you open a message and then go back to the list the messages are still selected. Changing folder or putting the app into the background un-selects them still.

so it's still doing the refresh redraw thing... i'd like to hear more once you have more junk in... i was fairly happy with the layout.. but searching/sorting and waiting for it to refresh was ridiculous..

if you take a look at s60 and even other "regular" SE's the mailbox is a lot more robust and in terms of speed...

Well I've only got it up to 20 or so messages (its a business account so it doesn't get much mail) mostly from myself

But searching is pretty instantaneous it returns some results STRAIGHT away, sorting them differently is instant too, but then I'd expect it to be. I'm just not the texter I used to be it'll take me weeks to get the SMS inbox upto a hundred maybe other users with more messages can provide some comments?

How can you think the messaging UI is good already? It takes forever to open messages/emails. Click the message, wait... watch the "BUSY" thing blink on the right and wait some more... then it finally opens, all for a message that was 2 letters long. That sucks imo. It's the thing I hate the most about the phone =(

I honestly don't experience that, not before and certainly not now. In fact i only remember ever seeing my old P910 do it on long HTML mails, nothing I've seen on the p1.
