not impressed with the N95 to be honest. K800i camera is still seems better. the OS is sluggish even on the unbranded version. and the build quality is not what you expect of a £500 phone, or from Nokia in fact, feels really cheap.
bit of a let down, seemed so good on paper...

@antichrist
"it's having problems like p990?"
hardly its rebooting once a day not 4-6 times a day like last August and the P990, lets just see how fast Nokia release a new firmware of course with a change log. I would also imagine people are pushing it quite hard just now and as it is still a Symbian 9.1 device even if it is S60 3rd Edition FP1 they will need to install and use a Task Manager for a smooth running device. As and of course as we all know no device is ever perfect when launched but look at the time from announcement to launch of this product compared to the P990 and as i said lets see what communication and fixes Nokia come up with and how fast. I think many would of been delighted had their P990's been this stable on release.

To answer some questions.
Charging is super fast.
Sound quality is great.
System is fast.
Sometimes there are some graphical glitches.
Not been able to set up the GPS yet.
Anyway, will include it all in the review.

. . . I beg to disagree here . . . I've seen how a 3 MP - N80 was compared with the K800 in the PK800 Pictures Thread and it is very evident that the N80 - wins ! What more with a 5 Mp camera (N95)
@amnesia - That's what i amde notice of the charging time in the Nokia N-9-series . . . they do charge fast . . . but they drain QUICK too just about 1.5-2 days in my N90 (under minimal use . . .)

no offence but this photo sucks for a $1100 phone
in what way this photo suck (compared to other camphone)? This photo is taken early in the morning where there is low light and misty. You obviously didnt see the same scene taken in sunlight?
I find the camera is very good. Most photo came out crisp and color not oversaturated. Even zoomed to full size, image is still discernable and have depth.
Show me one photo taken by a camphone that has this quality when view full size like the one seen below.

Have you really touched the real N95 (not a dummy set). Obviously you have not . The quality is way better than K800 cheap plastic look. There is no feel of plasticky of N95 at all. There is no creak at all. The slide is solid unlike N80. The camera latch is much more solid than seen on the K800. And the camera flash is as good as the K800.
And the OS is very fast. There is no lag when opening menu, contacts etc. And the screen is crisp. Even the main menu has icon animation. The multimedia menu is something new with background and icon animation.

My new N95: Update.
- Battery Life full to rundown (normal use on 3G): 53hrs uptime - with about 1hr call, 20sms, 1hr using other apps, 30min of wifi and took 10 pictures. Battery drop 1 level after 24hrs, drop another 4 in 13 hrs and last 2 in the remaining hrs. The last level last quite long (after ~6 notification of battery low the phone switch off).
- Battery charge time is about 1.5hrs from empty to full
- On boot-up, 22.8Mb (out of 48) of RAM is free. Open menu used 1Mb. When u receive/make call, it drop another 1.5Mb. Opening log+calendar+message+notes used another 0.7Mb. If you open web browser + wifi it used 6Mb (without open any webpage). Gallery gobble up 6Mb (so u will most probably get low memory if used with web browser). Map app+gps uses as much as 5Mb when load with map.
- No hang or reboot since 3 days ago.
- Loud speaker is VERY LOUD. Nearly deafen me when I accidentally hold near my ear with the "drill" ringtone at full volume.
- Camera functions are very advance- with manual setting of white balance, iso, color tone, contrast, color tone and exposure compensation. Also come with preset settings (if u dont want to meddle with this)
- Video recording came with video stabilisation which seems to work properly. Video is smooth clear and high-res!!

Those pics do look good, however i wish they didnt put the photos through such a strong noise filter - in the last photo the trees have no detail and its just a blur. If they managed to ease off the noise filter abit, the pics would look much sharper and give more detail, even if there is abit of noise id rather see sharper and less blurry pics IMO. |

I'm starting to think twice about this one after reading a few forums late last night/early this morning. as with the P990, probably nothing that a firmware update won't fix but I'm not gung ho at getting one to play with right now. Mind you, it was only going to be a slight distraction as I wait for a WM6 device
