guys, i'm seeking a help.
as i'm passing by Dubai late this month, and planning to get one of these models to my lil brother.
does anybody know how much this phone is priced in dubai?

It's best to pre-order while you can from that website; that's not the original price, im assuming that's the pre-order price... The debut price will be more than that for sure, considering it's an S500 but with a few added features, with the S500 costing $340 from that site. |

Any update on the W580 shipping from any site yet?
Getting agitated waiting for this. and that orange/black Motorola Z6 Rokr phone with 1GB MicroSD & Bluetooth Stereo headset is looking like a solid competitor; squared in cross-hairs directly at the W580!
I may just get it ... but I'm smart to hold off.
I'll be purchasing the DS970 headset though retail if I can find it in stock in my city. Their getting very scarce lately.
Also MBH-150 is looking pretty good lately as well.

all versions do have the lighting effects like the s500i. From the side of the phone.
Though, the grey, and black when its out, only have the lights on the side, the white version has it on side and front around the dpad.

for all those who tried the phone:
1- Do you answer and End Calls using the slide mechanism?
2- Can the light effects be seen when the slider is closed?
3- Do light effects work with the walkman player while playing a song?
4- How is the shake feature?
5- Can you assign Light Effects and Videos to your contacts?

Hi, just got my grey W580i today. GORGEOUS!
1-There is an option to turn ON or OFF on both sliding up to answer and closing to end call.
2-The effects can be seen when the slider is closed, cause there is a gap between the front and back piece.
3-The lights UNFORTUNATELY doesnt work with the walkman features unlike w850i.
4-Shake feature is very simple, just skipping to the next music track when you shake forward (It is in the phone maual).
5-You can assign video as CONTACT RINGTONE or RINGTONE, and YES you can assign different light effects to all your contacts.
Hope you are happy with my info. I am still trying to explore the phone, will update if got any new tricks! Haha...

3. only the white version plays the lights when playing music. but its not the side lights, its the front ones. the black and grey versions dont have the same lights around the dpad like the white one.
