Why isn't SE able to product phones that are both UMTS and EDGE capable ?

yeah the layout of the press release looks like all the other ones we have seen before for phones....I do trust axxxr...Official announcement would be in in a couple hours wouldnt it? Idont know what time it is in London

Interesting question, I think it's to do with marketing, you get different models in the Far East and the West, in the UK the networks have been trying to push 3G coverage which is good, but still has a long way to go before I can get it where I live. In the US you have EDGE being pushed by the operators more then 3G although I think this is changing.
So SE just market the different phones at the markets that are pushing the different technology's I suppose. Whilst Nokia just makes one model with both techs, SE chooses to make two different phones, one with UMTS (3G) and one with EDGE and sell them in the country's whose operators support the relevant tech.
Back on topic, will these new phones launching next year sport the new SE GUI??? |
