@ahmedviking, welcome to Esato! You'll find this a great place to be! Regarding the firmware, I've got the second latest one, R1CA021. The latest one is R1DB001. For more information on the latest firmware, check out this thread:- http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=130906

To find out your phone's firmware version, on your phone's standby screen, press >*<<*<* and select "Service info". There is an automatic keylock, but I believe it is not password-enabled. To temporarily silence the shutter sound, you'll have to put your phone into silent mode by pressing and holding the # key in standby mode. Note that this only works on certain firmwares. To silence the shutter completely, you'll have to use FAR manager, provided your phone is not CID49. I'm afraid I'm not able to help you in this aspect as I've not used it before. Do a search in the forum and I believe you'll find what you need.

Enjoy your stay here mate!

@miss UK - If you can manage to take good INTERIOR shots (mostly at night . . .) with your RED K750i, then I guess you can consider yourself a good camfonegrapher then ! As taking exterior shots will fairly be the SAME to all here, it will only DIFFER when images taken indoors are taken . . . [addsig]

@ahmedviking, you have to copy the mp3s into the mp3 folder on your memorystick. It'll be better if you format your memorystick with your phone in future, so that all the relevant folders would already be on your memorystick.

@jojo, I agree with you, it seems that it's easier to take good pictures with the K750 outdoors. Taking good indoor photos require a bit more tweaking of the settings.

@deluded - Yeah mate . . . yeah !

@ahmed - No need to upgrade FIRMWARE . . . unless, you are starting to encounter problems with your present one [addsig]

@ahmedviking, jojo's right, if you do not have any problems with your existing firmware, it's not necessary to get an update. Regarding your memory stick, it's been discussed before. When your phone's connected to your pc, only your pc can access your memory stick. It's always good to use the search function cos whatever problems you have will most probably have been encountered by others before.

@deluded - I am (was) seein' soooooo many members here who wanted to have the latest firmware on their fones . . . for what As a result SOME were havin' troubled-handsets after the ugrade . . . some DEAD units - worst One of the things that troubled me knowing are those peeps who have transformed their K750 to that of the W800 if they really wanted the W800, that's what should they have bought in the first place . . . not the K750 (and vise-verssa) [addsig]

thats mainly because others are not responsible enough to take charge of their update.. mostly wanted to update just for the reason that theyre updated.. not knowing what comes along within that update.. for the "IN" thing that is... if i were a die hard K750 fan... id be following every discussion this phone has, and again knowing it has backdraft every update.... then i would automatically expect something is still not that right with the present update. or if im a lazy boy... i would whine...

actually theres updating is not bad... its a good way to develop especially tech wise. but then people tend to forget responsibilities that comes along with every update. thats a part of what SE consumers are ought to do... know the bugs that lingers within every update.. not whine about them but discuss about it and try to find ways and means to go around it. SE had provided that tech, every bit of it... also the updating features which is indeed i find it very helpful. its a good way to interact with your gadget.

whats my point... if you love your gadget that much... it does need updates. just be sure enough what these updates are for... if you want to test it out... then do it.. surely it wont hurt yer gadget... explore! and be responsible!

nice ending mate but anyway, be sure you really encounter a huge problem before deciding to update to the latest(might sounds good) firmware.. R1CA021 to R1DB001 was a first and big mistake on my firmware update history well.. im still enjoying my K750 though

yep... i almost forgot... research! before you decide to update!

my K750 is on CID36 and goes well with FAR.. thats why i didnt haf any doubts updating to R1DB, when the sounds got all mushy... ive reinstalled NO HISSING packs.... then my sounds were back... as loud as ever..

thanks for the comment guys... i just cant stand other holding people back in the name of progress and/or development..

@jojo, yup, I think you've got a good point about flashing K750 with W800 f/w and vice-versa. I'm satisfied with my K750, and I don't think there's anything I need from the W800 f/w personally. There's nothing wrong with wanting to maximise our phone's capabilities, but a lot of research must be done prior to that. There's no point rushing into it and then posting "Help! My SE's bricked!". Though I'm certain I've seen a fair lot of such threads, as you undoubtedly have, jojo.

@rockygali, QuickShare, as you've both mentioned, updating f/w is not risk-free, but doing your homework in advance helps you avoid making mistakes others before you have. I feel that there are plenty of users out there who update their f/w hoping to find some new features when we all know that's hardly possible. Newer f/w usually only adds stability but seldom features. If there are no problems with our phones, then maybe we should be contented with our current f/w. And as rockygali has said, there's no harm trying out the new f/w, as long you know what you're doing.
