Are you ppl, who don't notice any hissing, sure of that? It's not just that you're hearing impaired?
If not, then it seems like this problem most likely only exist in some units.

well i've been reading this post for a while now and i must say i'm dissappointed at . How would they produce a product with so much critical bugs! This is really degrading for a company i so loved. After all the fixes on the k750/w800, i was expecting the w810 to be perfect; with minor bugs of course. Its so be that quite a good number of us are big time fans and i believe with all these comments and issues being brought up in similar forums like these, it will help to fix bugs on firmwares that will eventually become stable. The problem is by the time the firmware becomes stable, a good number of users would have lost taste for that product and would have forged ahead with introduction of new innovations on new products which not surprisingly will be filled with bugs again. If thats then trend, then i'm afraid for I'm still a big fan of and will always be. Of course they produce good handsets but i just want my side to be the best all round.

it depends on which CDA you have and what country you are from to be able to use SEUS for online free firmware upgrade... its only released for some CDA regions and countries.. not released yet for Australian and i think some of the american country.. not sure

I mailed SE to ask when a new update is available for W810, and as usual they say that they don't know when it's gonna come!
Weird I think, because I know that they are aware of the problems on W810, and they know for sure when a new SW-release will come!
I wonder why they newer can tell the truth???

We all SE-owners should send plenty of mails to them every day, so they may be at least give us some better service.

Well, I for one hope that the camera pictaking-problem is fixed in R4CK003, I've read that the shortcut- and flashingproblems are fixed at least. Although, I've not heard any about the walkman sound.

i dont know if this is mentioned. but today it looks like i found a bug with the software that came with the phone, when i xfer files from comp to phone i normally go through file transfer mode. but sometimes i go through phone mode. when i tried doing phone mode, xferring a file from comp to phone it starts xferring then all of a sudden says it cannot xfer and a file error has occured. i know its not the track or anything cuz i have tried xferring other files to me phone and never had problems.

so i tried xferring the file through file xfer and it worked without any problems.however phone mode never gave me a problem. anyone else found this??

I'd jst like to make a comment on this previous post:

One interesting thing to note is that the W810 has bluetooth 2.0 - yet no mention of A2DP. Does this tell us that the actual bluetooth module in the phone is different from that of the K750/W800 (which had 1.2) - and that a firmware update may/may not give it the necessary A2D profile, with given the right amount of pushing? I mean, why would even bother to upgrade it to BT 2.0 only for the sole purpose of upgrading it (better compatibility with newer phones with BT 2.0 an A2DP? an iffy proposition, imo), if the W810 was posed as a minor upgrade to the W800 in the first place?

It's becoming one of my pet peeves! Don't take it personal, loadza ova peeps have said its got v1.2- The K750i and W800i has 'Bluetooth v2.0', not v1.2.

So going back to your question... It's not entirely unusual for SE to make a phone with Bluetooth v2.0 without A2DP (because they've not only done this with the W810i but with the k750i/w800i). My guess is that with the K750i/w800i A2DP wasn't yet fully developed? Perhaps they jst didnt put it in with the W810i cuz it costs more? (Im not sure). But the main features of Bluetooth v2.0 isn't just A2DP, v2.0 also provides (of course) faster transfer speeds and the ability to simultaneously connect to several devices at once (e.g, a bluetooth headset and to another phone to send data).

I have a W810i and have the hissing problem, most noticeable at non-loud volumes, quieter music and at the end of most tracks. There is also obvious artifacts / distortion under these circumstances.
