What I think some of you dont understand is that we as muslims are muslim everyday, every hour and every minute, we wake up in the morning with a prayer, we pray before we eat, we pray before we leave our houses, we pray before we get into the car, we pary when we reach our destination safely, we pray when we get home... and ofcourse our 5 daily prayers, its a way of life we are muslim 24 hours a day!!
We respect and love our religion we live and breath it, we discuss at family functions, weddings, celebrations and every other opertunity we get, its our love and comitment that keeps us alive and the burning passion that keeps us on the right path!!
So we wont allow some fool to draw a cartoon in attempt to ruin and desecrate all that is good and hurt us where it hurts the most!!! |

What do you mean "We won't allow..."? It's not for you to "allow" or not allow anything. I won't "allow" people like you to tell me what I can and cannot do.

So can I. But someone's genuinely felt pain is not reason enough for me to not do something (although I would probably CHOOSE to desist).

Personally I think its just human emotions that play a part here,
to put it in perspective for you.
In soccer incidents when your team loses and you support them and are passionate about them and they loose, like the champions league last year when inter played AC and they threw flares on the field, Italians are passionate about their soccer, they threw flares to show their anger!!
The Colombian that got shot because he scored an own goal!!
The Barmy army thats always causing shit everywhere they go...
Its their passion that drives them, although not always in the right direction and I dont see hurting players and people with flares and killing players for scoring own goals justifying something as trivial as a soccer game, it happens thats what happened in this incident!
It that hurt at the time that burns inside you to take action! |

@gelfen
Yeah, not all people understand. It's sad to think that almost all conflict are caused by misunderstanding.
God is Love. He wants us to love our neighbors just as we love Him...and when we say "our neighbors" that includes people from other faith. That also includes the one who stole from you..even the one who insulted you.. Love only bears weight when you love those who are hard to accept or understand. It is easy to love those who are good to you. Let's just pray for those who persecuted both Non-muslims and Muslims. They just have to live and respect their differences altogether. Stop the hatred towards each other.

I am a Taoist every day, every hour and every minute. That does not mean that I regard Taoism as being above debate, discussion or questioning. It does not mean that I will seek to impose my beliefs on others and limit their rights.

In one of those rare moments that I agree with absin (which seem to becoming more and more common actually) I have to say that this is exactly what this thread is about. Who are you to decide what I or anyone else can or cannot say? You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to decide the opinions of others.
I should also point out that the cartoons were not printed in a deliberate attempt to attack Islam, they were printed because the author believed that Islam should be treated equally alongside the other religions in Denmark. Those other religions have been satarised, again not through a desire to attack or denigrate.

Why? Because some people think they can silence free speech by the threat of violence?
