Hi! I called up 211 yesterday afternoon, may bayad na raw ang wap browsing via gprs. Since Globe didnt send any notification (like the ones they sent last week informing us that they would start charging on the 27th), I didn't believe her. I called up Globequest instead. A certain Herbert told me that "Wala pa po charge pag wap browsing, only when used as a modem. Baka nga po hindi na mag-charge ang wap over gprs e". Sana nga...

muka ngang mahirap na paniwalaan yang customer service nila... ang gulo eh! sana nga di na mag-charge!

Bakit kaya hindi n lang cla magbigay ng rates para sa unlimited connection? Mas marami cguro ang kakagat don kesa 0.50/kb. :)

i've been viewing all discussions here and believe that until now e wala pa ring charge ang gprs... i just set up my officemates phone for gprs (he's on pre-paid) and after each session he checks his load... no debits!!!

Yup wala pa nga charge gprs para sa postpaid and prepaid. But if u use ur phone as a modem and ur under postpaid well siguradong gulat ka sa next bill mo. .50c ung per kb. Mahal!

I think this is the right thread to post this:

DAMN!!! I gave globe's CS a call they said they started charging GPRS P0.50/KB since Oct27!!! I asked them what newspaper was it announced and she can't give me anything!

let's do the math:
an average webpage can be 150KB in size
it costs P0.5 per KB
150KB x P0.5 = P75.00 Imagine paying P75.00 per page you visit!

Has anyone seen the announcement? I won't pay them until I'm convinced they really posted it on any newspaper

@jcpsad
not sure pero i was constantly using ipaq & t68 while on the road during the long vacation.

@high, I was using my t68 as a modem for my IPAQ kaya may charge

But I really wont pay them unless they can show me what publications they used to announce it

No announcements in Bulletin, Star and Inquirer. Text messages could not be considered as official advisories because it is a value added service and the subscriber is not bound to read it. There is absolutely no proof that you are aware of such messages UNLESS

1. A reply was requested that the subscriber has received the message or
2. That the subscriber has admitted reading such a message (like through this thread)

It's really funny that I have not received any text message regarding the notification... And this is the truth!

I completely agree with dlreyes!

@calvin - i think the only logical explanation why u werent informd of the gprs charging is because u stil werent using the service when they sent off all those sms to their subscribers. But then agn u can always point out that u werent aware, and even if u were, they cnt prove it bec they didnt document their announcement - as dlreyes has explained. Tel them that ur ready to take the issue to dti's attention.
