The flip covers exactly 20% of the screen (64 pixels).
In the leaked dimensions - if we can believe them - the screen it's only 4 millimiters shorter than the P910's.

The screen actually looks a tad wider than the P910's -- is that right? |

but the screen is shorter, thats my main prob with this set, also the qwerty on the set's body ud give it a treo (urghh) like feel. U c treos left, right, top and bottom in the States.
Also the p9whateva will carry a massive price-tag, i guess i will have to skip this model for all these reasons/
the jugsar now looks very alluring to me, i just hope it doesn make me ditch SE once n for all... |

That looks rubbish, i do not believe that is the new SE flagship phone, it may be ONE of the new phones on offer, it has the all important WiFi but still i think the P9 replacement will be all screen & no junk.

in my honest oppinion, that is another crappy upgrade, its not a p1000 at all, i was hopin for 3 mp camera. and at least 266mhz, at the least. but i bein 200 odd, is makin me angry,
i will hold back till the official, spec. but i kno keepin the mhz down saves the device a whole load of battery but , comon cant it do the shit centrino do, with it change its clock speed now n then, so we can at least use 400 mhz when it needs it.
iv seen smartphones much nice than this now.
even the ones you guys have posted.
i want that feel , that same feel. the feel when i first got my p800 (cost a bomb) but it was worth it.
i dont see that wanting feel from the initial design.
so that feel is missing.
"wow" the speed of nokia, seems they show no fear nokia phones dont have the time to chill, too busy and it makes me ill. sonyericsson rulz! |

Dude thanks for posting this photo.
Guys remember the first prototype of first SE phone a ways back?? The Z700 or something like that. Remember the Sony phone that had a jog wheel and a flip cover like that of the Ericsson T39/28World phones did? But the phone I'm talking about never came to production; yet was based on 1 that did and was a 900/1800Mhz Europe only phone with GPRS, and a remote for MP3s and I think it had a MS Slot too.
A found it its the Z700;

Dude, this is not a windows machine.
Simple MHZ doesn't mean anything.
The processor used in the Hermione can Multitask - LITERALLY -
It can do multimedia and 3D graphics at light speed.
Read the specs!

I have mixed feelings about the "p950"
Now I'm thinking I should get the Jasjar or the k-jam but then I think to myself,
p series is ultra stable for smartphone- jasjar?
p series has perfect bluetooth and syncing with pc - jasjar?
p series is easy to use wilst driving - jasjar?
p series can be used on weekends - jasjar?
p series battery lasted me about 3 to 4 days- jasjar?
p series looks good and new feature set seems impressive - jasjar sounds good on paper but will it work in reality the way my p series phones have over the years?
what are your thoughts?

Nor do I. The question, however, is: will I regret buying a P950? And I'm almost certain the answer will be: Yes.
So here's my plan: I'm going to keep my P910 and add a Nokia 770 when they become available.
The idea is to buy 3 or 4 770s, with an Asus WiFi 100 GB hard disk and BT adapters for the printers, to have everybody 'Netted-up in the new house.
Once I've got those, there's no need to replace my phone anymore. When my Pee dies (and may it live long and prosper!), I'll just get the smallest and cheapest Bluetooth phone I can find. |

i made up mind, if the pics of the p950 r those which r above, n the form-factor is like those ugly treos, n if the specs r what we r speculating, then i am going for the Jagsar. Not long now, only 1 day for us to know whats really going to happen.
Its a pity really, if i buy the imate Jagsar, then this means i will get rid off my complete SE archive, which notably includes the P910i, T610 and the K700 (just ordered some time ago). I will also probably get a XDA-2 mini as my backup set, or maby sth (by imate ofcourse) smaller. THis is what i normally do, i dont like having sets of several different companies, its end of the love affair with SE, , but i am not left with a choice really, SE didn give me any |

I don't exactly understand what people are complaining about. Nobody has actually seen the phone( well nobody that would dare show his face on a forum ). Nobody knows how UIQ3 is like. Nobody really knows how big the phone is and what the screen is like. I can't see people complaining about a phone that has a length that is only 0.5 more than a W800. I meen this phone is small. The qwerty on the body is sure more usable than the P910. People are complaining about its not a good enough upgrad ove the P910. I mean, what didn't they upgrade? This phone is quite a leap over the P910 espesially when you see the jumps SE made with P800 ->P900->P910. Also the lamest thing I've heard is the thought of ditching your whole SE collection because the leaked pictures of their next smartphone is not quite what they wanted. I have nothing against people buying other brands but to go full speed ahead and buy a couple phones from a company you haven't used before and get rid of all you other phones in the process is just stupid.
As for the design of the back. I can't say its perfect, but atleast it makes sense. I sure didn't want a K750-like cover on it. They used something functional that keeps the thickness down. I would've like 2 photoLEDs instead of one though.
I don't want a signature anymore. |
