am in jb using digi with no probs cheap rates and good cust service. unlike celcom who double bill and fail to provide service not to mention lousy cust service when call or go to center. as to maxis too much spam sms , poor cust service. and when go to singapore seems only get roaming there with digi celcome doesnt work at all and maxis barely works and charges way to much.

well, their call center is notorious for turning people round in circles for one with their oddly long-winded computerized system. i took 4 minutes or so just to get to the part where i 'queue' to speak to a representative...they put me on hold for a bit, then just hung up. annoying? they just lost a customer there. it doesn't help that their call center doesn't have ratings system like maxis do.

But i dunno wtf we're gonna talk about. Are you guys till as nuts about phones as we were back then? I know I'm not.

Back then I was crazy for phones, but not any more. My modded K750i serves me very well, i don't see the need to upgrade. Well, at least until it dies on me.
There ain't much development in the past year or so... *yawns*
Same sh*t, different name. Boring....

But now I've stepped into the audiophile world... There ain't no coming back from there.... The website www.head-fi.org is pure evil... my wallet cries every time i log in there. But the $$$ spent is well worth it.

oh well... remember when i was itching for the Nokia N76... heard so many sob stories about the paint literally *peeling* off that when Samsung announced the Ultra Edition 12.1 aka U700 i jumped!

now i'm holding an ultra-sexy phone riddled with at least a dozen dead pixels and it is something normal... ho hum!
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=1180407

ohya... sanj:
tht link u gave... i scrolled down to "Los Angeles Orange County Head-Fi Meet 8/19/07"
and hey ho, a collection of literally old farts...

ohya, i also acquired a Sony DR-BT30 which is like so damn cool
i pair it with my Samsung, it plays music with album art ala Windows Media Player, pauses when a call comes in and resumes upon completion.
recently i also discovered it works that way when i connect it to my laptop (samsung manages to sniff it out and connects anyway)
call me a "jakon" if the info above was a FAQ...
it just comes across as bloddy impressive to me

Well, the Sony's you speak of certainly look nice. I wonder how they sound?
Maybe we should have a meet and you bring that along?
I'll bring my Audio Technica ES7.

I personally have always wondered if sound quality gets degraded when audio is transmitted via bluetooth...
I talking about audiophile definition of sound quality here, not the general population's definition of "good sound"... LOL I've never had high expectations for bluetooth audio anyway. Me thinks they will sound thin or hollow. I've always had this notion that most of the $$$ you pay for a set of BT headphone go into the BT part and not the actual audio quality part. Basically you're paying for the development of the BT tech they use in there. Just IMHO. But I'll reserve judgement until I actually hear one.

Oh yeah, regarding the old farts... Yeah, the pics freak me out too... But they sure as hell give great advice regarding audio stuff... Once you taste the poison, you'll want more. IF you're itching to taste some, get the Audio Technica ES7 or Equation Audio RP21, both are closed circumaural headphones... they are about RM430++ liddat lah...
If you want slightly less expensive, get the Mylar X3 or XB, they are IEMs.... costs about RM165... I'm gonna listen to both these IEMs next week and listen for myself what all the hype about these two are about.

I'm waiting for my much more expensive set of custom made headphones to arrive in December, they're supposedly have bass like a woofer!! I'm a bass head, I can't help it! ... and I'm getting an amp next week too... Such is the curse of Head-Fi.

What? Your Samsung is full of dead pixels? WTF? Wat is the minimum number/percentage before you can claim warranty?
What do you think about SE's latest crop of phones? I think they are mostly just a rehash of last year's phones with a few improvements here and there... Nothing really ground breaking. What I'm waiting for is GPS and really good audio output from SE's phones + standard 3.55mm audio jack. Until then its a no go for me. The phones audio quality maybe better than most of the other phones on the market, but they leave much to be desired when compared to mp3 players. I wish that SE would come out with something that could rival the Creative mp3 players or the Zune. I did NOT mention the iPod because I happen to think its crap. I talking about headphone out, not line out. The iMod uses line out, its a whole different story.

Speaking of line out, it'd be great if more mp3 players/phones have the line out as standard option.

The only two phones that have partially caught my attention are the 960 and the N95 8GB.
