Also, i'm not surprised at all if this is the honami. There is always overhyping of sony/sonyericsson products in the rumor thread which usually in the end doesn't turn out to be exactly what people expected. And of course people get mad at sony, not the people turning up peoples expectations. With that said, even if it's "just" a smaller ZU with beefier camera and led flash it will still be an awesome device, how can it not be?
You are probably right. From what I heard Honami looks like a larger Xperia Z. |

Its not really Sony's fault in the end. Its all the rumours. We hype ourselves up to an unrealistic degree, and then are disappointed when our fantasies (which are often not physically possible) aren't lived up to.
Still, I will be buying the Honami. Even if it is a nominal upgrade to the sensor, with a much better JPEG engine, a better screen and SD800, it would be more than enough to do most people. |

i heard that it was smaller than the zl, and they really tried to maximize the screen/face ratio. lets wait to see what they will chose for the SoC, and if they will triumph 4K.24p video to market? I would hope that they could release it with 64gb internal + msdxc ... but that doesnt look likely.
my n900 from 2009 has 32gb internal, and i have a 64gb card installed. it would be nice to upgrade... everything else is primed on devices these days, but internal storage is a killer for me.. forced to stay in the dark ages.
edit: four years and storage is remained stagnant, its reminiscent of laptop screen resolution, no other reason not to include the added internal storage. sometimes theres no clouds..

Everybody seems to have heard something different.
I guess we should wait till Sony announces the damned thing. |

oh boy.. not the internal storage debate again. let's not start that, shall we? obviously everyone has preferences.
@-xyz seems so. wish it were being announced sooner than what's rumored..

The leaked picture is missing some design details that huiyi and ramu have described so i highly doubt this is he honami they've seen. ramu described the camera module to be larger than ZL, with curved edges on th bottom. who knows anyway this could perhaps be a different model or an alpha design. it's still too early to conclude things as such.

I just really hope Honami is the slimmer ZL with better processor, screen, camera, speakers and waterproof rating, and Z's back. I guess this would be enough for a flagship. |

Also, Sony please make the internal memory 32 gb. I am not expecting anything bigger, 32g is about right! |

rx100mkII's sensor is now back illuminated which is expected to furher improve light sensitivity by at least 15%. now if the 2/3" sensor on honami is also back illuminated then i think it may be as good as 808's sensor. im also hoping that he senso is also stripped of its low pass filter to produce sharper images.

can't wait to see the new RX100..
can't wait to see the truth of what Honami is..
it's been a wild ride, but so far what's been produced has been fairly impressive. i'm sure Honami won't disappoint.. if it does, it's only because we gave it unrealistic expectations (which we always do!)

I agree 100%! I remember last year when the 2012 roadmap leaked, everyone was soooo looking fwd to Hayabusa & Mint especially, and as the rumors/leaks/spy pics poured in for the next few months, as well as when Sony unveiled Xperia GX/SX, everyone wanted a GX, including me. When the T/TX/V was finally announced, that was when the disappointment set in. Suddenly they weren't good enough, numerous shortcomings & dealbreakers across the board! I won't say everyone, but many expressed such opinions after the phones were launched. I myself won a Mint (T) and I must say, it's a very impressive phone, all my friends and co-workers are so impressed by it & I love it to no end. It serves me well & is an extremely well-built & reliable, quality handset. To date it has never crashed even once & I have updated it a few times already.
Please break this vicious cycle all, and don't have too many unrealistic expectations of honami, lest you all end up disappointed because you were expecting too much.
