My information might not be reliable but it'll get 4k 60fps soon.
This model?
Nope, but a Z3 or Z4 might just do that |

Secondly, each camera can take a good or bad photo.
Camera isn't doing it all by itself, it still needs you to help, right?!
It's you who capture it so you know, the more difficult light more knowledge it needs.
Lol.

Legal issue with google because Sony re-wrote the camera app?
I do not understand, the only thing I can think of is the the new app has been created for Kit Kat and so Sony has to wait for Kit Kat to roll out officially?
Anyway it is a bad news for Docomo users, who knows how long it will take them to release this to clients...
Otherwise, for people who tried it, what is the pixel binning thing doing in the camera?
- Is it enabled by default when you take 8MP shots? I would have thought 20MP/4=5MP would be the final output of pixel binning to keep the aspect ratio constant.
- Is this compatible with manual mode?
- Can you select it in the GUI, and is there a limitations of your options when you select it?
- Do you see a difference of quality by taking say a 5MP regular a shot and a 5MP shot via the pixel binning?
Any insight is appreciated, thanks

sony didn't try to hide the fact the xperia z before had a washed out display and poor viewing angles. it was the same xz they used in their promo videos and photos.
hopefully, that device up there is the same device available for retail.

it's one of sony's official promo photos. they used washed out xperia z units in their official photo and video ads before so my optimism's quite high now.
updated: i think i'm taking my word back. i think it looks fake. the bezels on that photo are too small.

Z1 review from Austria
Sony Xperia Z1 im Test: Wasserdicht mit Stil
Conclusion from Google translate.
With the Sony Xperia Z1 Z-Series donated a useful update and the Android competition from Samsung, HTC and LG presented a lot. The performance is right, the design has a high recognition value and all the necessary features are present. With the strong battery Sony has also integrated an improvement in the right place.
Overall, little real weak points can be identified, only the display is perhaps not quite the viewing angle possible on a level with the LC variants of HTC or LG.
The camera in the Z1 is a definite one of the best, if not the best on the high-end smartphone sector. But one must also wonder why did not expect, especially in low light, as it continues to be a smartphone camera, albeit a very good one.
EDIT:
First Z1 tear-down. The back-cover is only glued on

Seems like my information and your information is conflicting.
What's your source?
Again, this might not be very reliable, but it's said the Z1 will be able to take 4k@30fps at the same time as burst mode 20mp pictures at 10 pictures per second. |

@away thats two different people (admad/nodar).. so being different persons its hard to implement self contradiction
and where did you get your info?
Sony could easily replace the Samsung KLMAG2GEAC (16GB) for the KLMCG8GEAC (64GB) with NO changes to the mainboard... ZERO, save for the chip itself.. and if they were so inclined use the KLMDGAGE2A (128GB) which moves from 159 -> 163 FBGA (solder points aka pins like a CPU socket). The smaller capacity chips are the same exact size.
