It looks like the Exmor-R actually makes a difference in low light?
To those of you that have the Arc now: what's the SAR-value of it?
Currently NExus 4, but want Xperia ZR. |

@unknown
I have seen samples like that at the MWC videos. Seems like it can handle light better, but there isnt a major difference at pictures, maybe there is in VR. +that in daylight shots i havent seen any good pictures so far. Maybe the cameraman was always shaking, or fingerprints on the lens, but i havent seen 1 normal photo. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but it aint great eighter. At least not as great as the hype. More samples plz?
EDIT: and after some more staring at the pictures, i STILL cant find more detail on the Arc shot, only more light and wider image. I still cant read the small letters that are on the books (well not that small), and what i can read on the Arc i can also read on the X10. Maybe the X10 misfocused, but thats about it. If there was a big difference it would pop out, and be obvious, but as long as i have to stare at them and analize at pixel level... well there isnt. Maybe it's this idiot Dell monitor from work, but i really CANT see any difference aside from more light.
Does it have wider angle lens or you took the picture from different positions? Because that can be a factor too. Waiting for some 1:1 identical shots.

Exmor R from what many professional photography experts say on what I read in photography magazines actually creates more noise. Its evident in the Sony WX1 Cyber-shot camera. Even many consumers were unconvinced. Even though I am getting the Neo I am not buying cos I am convinced of Exmor. I had a Sony camera with Exmor once and my newer Samsung camera with no CMOS sensor performed better in lowlight simply cos of its f1.8 bright lens. Its all a gimmick

It's a MOBILE cam... it should be enought that it's way faster/can take photos rapidly than the x10. the new Exmor-R does not make the camera worse, but it's not like it will change the world ether. the Camera is GOOD(better then most) for a mobile period!

Xperia Mini vs Xperia X10 vs Xperia Arc Qualcomm Adreno Neocore benchmark results.
YouTube
Neocore results
X10: 21.4 fps
Arc: 57.8 fps
Mini: 37.1 fps
The Arc is faster than the X10, but it does not feel three times faster. So these numbers are lying.
I also run the Quadrant benchmark and got similar results there:
Xperia Arc: 1612
Xperia X10: 511
Quadrant results

@laffen what is the call volume like on the Arc compared to x10?? As we all know the x10 was a little quiet in terms of call volume. I just noticed on GSM Arena that all the new Xperia range has the highest daily voting out of all phones on the website

@laffen the x10 Mini is faster than the x10??
X10 mini=240 x 320 pixels
X10=480x854 pixels
That is 5.3 times more pixels to move, the iPhone 3gs get's higher scores than the iPhone 4 too. |
