@Dogmann Like you I had the freeware version of Swiss Manager, downloaded the trial version of Swiss Manager Pro and found it much more useful because of the always visible icon that displays the time. Tapping on the icon allows you to reclaim memory, end background apps, quick access to favourites etc. Thanks to CPS for making a must have app!
Back on topic, I hope that this fimware release gives us more RAM at boot up and better memory management.

Well we know that SE have a continuous FW development programme, so it just depends on if they think a particular version is ready for release. In the UK the P990 has been shown on Sky TV as representing the latest generation of Smartphones and has received good reviews in the magazines so lets hope SE make the effort to fix the bugs and alleviate some of the memory problems.
I am generally happy with my P990 and super quick W950 (and innovative M600 ) bur many people who use Push email are going to feel very cheated if SE don't fix the low RAM issues soon. And if they are not fixed now then I think there is a limit to what can be done with the current architecture and we'll have to wait for Symbian 9.3 for the real 'P990'! |

I live in Hungary and returning mobile phones because of 'unfit for advertised purposes' isn't really in fashion by us :S
I think it's not acceptable in any way, that you buy an expensive phone and then have to sell it and suffer about -25 % loss of the original price, because of the dumbness at SE !
If the Week 48 fw doesn't fix the multitasking/memory management, I'm going to return the P990i and demand my money back...it's a f**** bad joke from such a respected company !
Yeah, use the NAND chips, because they are cheaper...and forget about the customers who are willing to use the phone what they havei PAID A LOT for !
:@
I'm very angry at SE right now... |

@ phonixspri
Don't be angry, it's not good for you to let your mind suffer for something you have paid for.....lol... just sell the phone and not buying any SE phone again for a couple of years.... If they have responsibility, we will support them by buying their product again and again... if they not, just go and buy another... there is so much product for subtitusion, so don't be affraid... let them be aware lol... join the P990 subtitusion discuss and we'll see what we have if they don't improve the fw |

I could live with the compromised architecture if the phone worked for long enough without crashing. I am not sure what the population is of people who are complaining. I am sure there are lots of business people who will steer well clear of SE. I know I have seen many companies in the UK deploying the 3G windows mobile phone.
I have tried HPs first mobile phone with wifi and it was also shocking - this is SE's first venture and its shocking. An experinment and in the MSoft camp of put it out there and fix the bugs after. I guess we were all too keen to get the phone. I think 3G takes a lot out of the designs and capabilities of the batteies.
I have just found another probelm with my P990 - I bought a HCB-100 handsfree for the car and my K800 works like a dream however my P990 want me to do voice dial when I try to do last number redial - . Surely it simple to test top end phones with the range of SE accessories made by SE.
TomTOm works pretty good though - bit of an expensive GPS though.
I have already cancelled the phone deal with Vodafone. The phone was so bad. So the service providers are loosing money to not just the end customers. |

Guys, it seems that Nokia and SE are actually great friends. On the yahoo I have seen that N93 or similar comes with Casino Royal on the memory card. I have just finished watching the movie where James Bond use M600 and generaly SE all the time. Also mr.Bond didn't asked for any new firmware.lol |

Hi all,
OK have upgradded to SwissManager Pro as felt i wanted to make a contributation to Cellphonesoft for there hard work. Actually I can't believe just how much more there is in the Pro version well worth the upgrade IMO even on the M600 the extras really do make it even easier to use.

@Dogmann
Care to elaborate? I might want to add that to my list of softwares to buy after the next FW upgrade. |

@siandy,
I am not so sure if the singapore ver will be released before 8 dec, wk49. Although I do hope that it will as I too am having a singapore set, but I somehow feel that 1 week is just not sufficient for SE given their track records.

I'm in Malaysia and my P990i F/W is:
Phone: R7A001
BT: R4F01
Org: R3B01
CDA: R3B01
Hi all,
I'm new but have been reading this thread since the P990i came out. Here's something I think all of you should know (some of you probably knew by now):
Checked for F/W update 5 mins ago, no update. Frustrated (like many of you).
Went to SE Service Centre, spoke to some bloke there (who at that time is fiddling with his P990i).
Asked him about the R9A F/W.
He says yep it's out. Show me his phone.
Yep it's R9A alright!!
Asked him to upgrade mine.
NO CAN DO he says. According to him, the R9A has been available for a while for SE people to test and is NOT FINALISED!!
So when can we have it? Two weeks time from now (if all goes well).
Sure?
No. Might even be 2007 for all he knew.
Hows the new F/W? Err... No comment sir, he says.
Can you please upload for me secretly? NO CAN DO. Wait for it like everybody else.
Any official word from SE HQ regarding the release date? NO. keep checking online, if SE release it early, only way to check is via SEUS.
so I told him someone has already got R9A, and he says someone from the service centre must've uploaded it for him/her but officially they're not suppose to do that as R9A is for test only.
Conclusion? R9A is out, but not via SEUS. Go to SE Servcie Center in your country and see if you can bribe/ persuade them to upload for you if you are desperate to get hold of it.
Me? I'm stuck with R7A. Am i bothered? Was, not anymore. Why? Ever used Linux? Ever used Windows? Which one crashes more often and which you'd prefer? Precisely. |

The question we all have is not wether there is an upgrade or not, but what exactly has been fixed and added/changed by SE.
