color wise I only saw one, dont bother naming it as we all know theres white and black for sure.
just think of xperia z with different made materials, so design wise is not that bad i guess at least we dont have to worry about the back glass anymore, i personally like the color black, but the one i was shown wasnt in black, so maybe thats why i find it ugly lol.
someone said earlier about a larger bezel for a 5 inch phone is definitely true. 
i can see why sony would name it the xperia z 2 (if indeed thats where they are heading)

Going with numbers is the best way to differentiate the true flagship product for its company. employees and consumers would not be confused by using this method. As we all know, Sony has always been producing high end products and name them as VAIO Z, Xperia Z, etc...
So i wouldnt be surprised if they decided to go with Xperia Z2

the back "felt" like aluminum.
in terms of speed, its like togari, just smooth, I didnt think the UI was new as it was shown on togari already, maybe the software is not finalized yet.
no comment on the camera as they blocked it from people to access it.
some of you may have missed this part as i was editing earlier:
3.5 mm jack is on the top left (facing the front of the phone), no flaps covering it.
as spoken earlier by others, the bottom is indeed just speaker grills.
has a camera shutter key.

I somehow doubt that the phone would be the same thickness as the Z with that whopping great camera sensor. Either there is a bulge or its uniformly thicker, say about 9-12mm, closer to 9 if it doesn't feel alarmingly thick compared to the Z.
If the back feels like Aluminium then it probably is, or some variant of the aluminium-magnesium alloy they use on their notebooks. If it feels metallic, it probably is a metal. No known synthetic polymers (at least, that I'm aware of) that feel metallic. It could be carbon fibre, but that would feel more like textured plastic. |

Is the design similar to razec's and reeflotz's rendering or maia's description?

i didnt quite measure the thickness exactly, but i took out my Z and did a quick comparison. Plus they blocked out the back of the phone, so I say close to your estimation 8 mm or more definitely.
just think of Z made with different materials. like no better explanation than that.
if you ask me, Sony just took all the negative aspects of the Z and made it better.

I recently got a glimpse and I can share: It holds LED flash and it's 20MP. No Xenon flash. |

if i could see the back, then maybe i could tell the difference. plus, what Maia saw might be the early prototype, who knows maybe the one i saw is a mid way end prototype, and then all of the sudden a newer prototype comes out lol.

What about the Diamond Edge?
So Honami might have similar design language to XZ but different material at the back and Diamond Edge Metal Frame like the Z Ultra??

From your description, it seems to me that honami is just a Z in steroids, and I'm personally not surprised to find out that it'll use the same omnibalance design as Z Ultra have shown us. but that camera indeed is mysterious.
