Na, its the real deal Mik.
From gismodo:
Myriad hacks are emerging for the PSP as eager tweakers have their way with the blackbox. Add to the list the ability to control your home automation system (and TiVo) wirelessly.
Liquidice explains:
I now have the ability to turn my lights on and off. I have full control (Play, Stop, Pause, Menu) of my DVDplayer, TIVO, and High Def TV, all wirelessly from my PSP. ...I put an image map on some graphics and created some HTML pages which are hosted on my WACI NX server. The links are crafted so that when the PSP highlights and clicks on a spot on the image map, it instructs the WACI NX server to send an IR signal to my A/V equipment or triggers it's relays to cut power on the lights.
While he doesn't have step-by-step instructions, he explains his methodologies pretty clearly, and mentions that an official Sony web browser for the PSP will make things much simpler.

Wish my mum would buy me one when my exams finish in june! (lucky git!).
I've been playing on the PSP all day, for the first time of course! (my sister got it from lik-sang.com). She's a gaming gurl but she's thinkin of giving it away to her boyfriend (is she nuts?!). But i'm well jealous that she's still got one b4 me (tramp).
Course i'm an NFS addict, and the PSP NFS didnt let me down (wot a wkd game!!!). Graphics are nearly just as good.
Took me a while to figure out how to upload mp3 tunes to it (eventually figured out that i had to format the memory stick). Uploaded pics and the quality is unbelievable! I have a few issues with MP3 playback, the speakers could be a little louder and the volume with the earphones could be a little louder too.
Jst hopin these will be fixed soon for wen i 'hopefully' get one in september this year . (Though i think i wanna get the Sony Ericsson K750i first! So many Sony products i wanna get! :s)
P.S: I'm glad i didnt settle for the DS!

@ miss copperfied
Game are taking deposits of £20 but they can't guarantee a release date!
They also say ExpectedRetailPrice (ERP) of £179.99 but again thats no guarantee.
@ themarques
I guess there's no danger in trying it is there? PM me a link if u've got one.
Does this also mean u don't have your PSP anymore?
Also won't u need a 2GB Duo to fit a UMDs worth of game on there?
