I support what brix says 100 percent. You and tahir are vodacom puppets. You believe everything you are told. Voda probably makes 200 % profit on each phone.

I support voda coz i honestly believe they are the cheapest and have the best service or maybe im just lucky..

my moms on mtn for 10 years and is a platinum client coz once voda declined to give her a deal she wanted..

my sis is on mtn as well coz every1 has her number and she doesnt mind paying higher prices just for her #...

she does however get jealous sumtimes coz i get what i want from voda... just coz i ask... im not baised in any way if mtn offers what i want than i will go for it!!!

its my choice and im not bound to anyone... i might just change coz in the end its my money and i choose how to spend it no one can force me and i do admit that i support voda coz i believ its the best SP in sa at the moment!!!

but who knows!

as for brix he is a bit of a negative oke, but think tahir has a part to play coz he gets on my nerves as well...

and i know some friends who have hands in mtn and yes they sometimes back voda for particular things and the fact that voda is the best...

iv got info from all sides... but respect to mtn/cell c subscribers coz they actually give some competition so voda doesnt rule, so in the end every1 plays a role and to persuade every1 to join voda would just cause them(voda) to take more advantage!!!

I've got nothing against Vodacom... I was actually one of the first people in Cape Town to make a video call when Vodacom demonstrated 3G to me in August last year.

@Brix i see you and 786KBR were talking about prices on phones or eletronics.I can comment on phones only because thats my business.786KBR is correct in saying prices depends on demand and our currency.Do you own survey from tomorrow.Last month Vodacom was giving away the D500 free on weekender package but as of tomorrow is going to be R199 cash on the same package. The V800 was Free on business package last month from tomorrow it will be R199 cash on business package.I am selling more D500 than any other SAMSUNG.Has of tomorrow the price of the E600 is going to drop drastically. The price on the E600 only drop after 10 months because everyone is buying D500.If our rand looses value prices on phones do go up because phones are not made in SA........@Brix you said you will never buy a Vodacom 3G phone if its VODAFONE BRANDED and will only buy 3G from MTN next year MARCH.By next year Vodacom will have 3g coverge everywhere in SA.MTN will be 8 months behind in coverage

786KBR was arguing a stupid point when I said mobile phone prices were dropping after a certain time. @Tahir...sorry to burst your bubble but the best mobile games publisher is Gameloft...not THQ.

Sim-free handsets, thus autonomous of direct network marketing strategies, are another classic example of prices dropping. I have bought 4 sim-free handsets from www.expansys.com and 2 from www.mobilefun.co.uk. Visit these sites regularly and watch the prices of the SIM-FREE handsets drop every few weeks. Expansys always quotes the amount of specific handsets in stock, which makes it a bit easier to check if they have got a cheaper consignment by replenishing their stocks, or just reducing the profit margins and therefore price, as the new handsets become more and more dated after each month and demand drops as newer handsets begin emerging.
If I look at how much money I lost on 2 of the handsets (6670 and black v3) when they came out, to what they cost 2 months later, it does kinda make me feel sick. That's the nature of the beast, I guess.
An example: Nokia's new 6230i SIM-FREE costs £214.95 from www.mobilefun.co.uk at the mo, last week it was £229.95 and last month it was around £249!
Hmm, methinks cellphone prices droppeth...

@ Tahir,
Yeah, the 'Stop The Clock' promotion that you are mentioning is pretty damn good, particularly from a PAYG persective, and as you also correctly mentioned, is available for contract as well.
Unfortunately I make most of my calls during peak times. Because of this, Vodafone UK is just way too expensive for my needs. If I was a frequent off-peak caller, it would be FANTASTIC.
Another example: Vodafone smatstep or smartplus charge 35p per minute to other networks during peak times and 12p per sms.
With easymobile it's 15p cross-net and 7p per sms,
or Tesco (Pommie version of Pick n' Pay), using O2's reception, charge 20 per minute flat rate and 10p per minute flat rate to your fave 3 numbers.
There is also a lot of PAYG promotions at the moment, eg. Orange are doing their Prepay Repay scheme, where they give £5.00 credit for every £10 you spend at the moment, or O2 with their online PAYG special, getting either 300 sms's for £10 or 100 minutes x-net for £10...not too shabby, hey?
But yes, the Vodafone promotion comes at a good time when there are so many UK networks with cheap PAYG promotions. It certainly is a massive bargain..let's hope it lasts.
