Regarding XZ's photo quality I think there must be some trick behind it. Like when the image stabiliser is enabled, all the details on the photo will be gone. (Is there a way to show if the image stabiliser is on?)
IMHO, Sony must still be good at its camera department. My almost-3-year-old X10's camera is really really awesome and I don't understand why it doesn't receive any recognitions for its camera. Well, I guess it all depends on who take the photos though. Give me an XZ, I will totally rock the camera |

@ Ricky D, thanks for the info.
I didn't know about the Qi wireless chargers being widely available in public, that's pretty nice. Besides that feature though, from a practicality standpoint I don't see much difference between having to put your phone on a Qi wireless charger unit, or putting it on the Sony dock. As you pointed out there may be other factors like charging speed, but as far as what the user has to do to charge the phone and how acessible it is while charging, both options seem pretty equal. |

Well, the pics from Xperia Z ain't that bad, it's not much better than competition, but it ain't much worse either Nothing to boast about tho. But what's the deal with video, it seems like it's out of focus all the time... Just compare it with GS III. GS III produces really sharp images, along with competition, and I haven't seen a single Sony phone that can produce so sharp videos, why?... |

God... What happened to those review sites... When eprice & frandroid reviewed Z, the day-light & low-light images they posted were much better than the competition(except Lumia 920)... Note-2 wasn't even able to stand infront of it...
Everybody included stuff & cnet said that Z had an excellent cam... I believe in GSMarena's review... But their opinion abt cam...??? Cos I've already seen enough pics & video clips taken with Z, those would smoke the competition... After all it's ones personal opinion... Like, even yesterday, I went to a showroom & compared the cams of different hand-sets... Of course 920 was the best followed by ion & ip-5... S3 & HTC 8x had not so good cams... Even lumia 820 was better than HTC 8x... If you ask someone else, they might say it the other way around...!!! |

I really don't go on reviews to be honest. I have never really cared to read much. Though I respect and understand how important it is for others.
My biggest reason not to read them is only because every user is a different user and what they like is up to them. S3 is such a successful phone but I would never buy because of pathetic UI. To me it's the most pathetic UI compared to the polished UI of Sony. Same goes with iPhone 5. I just hate iOS not being able to do so many task what Android can do. Little things like share options on Android is amazing compared to iOS.
As far as camera is concerned, reviews do help but again it doesn't really matter to me cause I don't buy a phone because I want a good camera
I'm a hard-core internet smartphone user and for me it's the browser, apps & UI that matters the most. As I said, everybody is a different user

Coming back to the topic..
Has anybody from Bombay contact Mr.John from Sony Center @ Opera House? How much did he quote you and what date did he mention?

From GSMArena:
"In the superior auto mode the Sony Xperia Z produces photos with pleasing, albeit slightly oversaturated colors. The resolved detail is hardly spectacular and the noise levels are only average, but the dynamic range is good and contrast is excellent. The results are pretty good overall, although we wouldn't say it has a significant advantage over the best 8MP shooters from last year. Matching their performance is still a pretty good achievement, though."
"The Sony Xperia Z challenges the best shooters in town and you can head over to our Photo quality comparison tool to see how it did. It did excellently on the first two charts, taking advantage of the superior resolution of its sensor to comfortably beat the 8MP sensor. Once we come to a more real-life scenario (third poster), the noise reduction takes its toll and the Xperia Z loses its advantage."
I think that's enough.

A good review. The camera at matches last year's 8MP shooters and has some great extras. Good enough for me.

So many idiots at GSMArena who didn't even bother to read the review are bashing Sony saying Z camera can't even match S3/Iphone 5. LOL

Same as the poster above, for those who have owned early Xperia Z, kindly post pictures taken with stabilizer ON and OFF. Turning stabilizer ON eats up details, including both day and night shots. |

In a press conference today in Dubai, Sony announced that Xperia Z will be launched in both UAE and KSA in the first week of March, the presenter hinted of the possibility of having it next week in KSA, but the main time is the first week of March...
Price will be AED 2490 / SAR 2490 which translate to $660, in Bahrain I'm expecting same launch time frame with same price ( BHD 249 ) but there's a possibility of a little bit higher price ( maximum BHD 20 = $53 )...

Well, Thailand will get this beauty sometime in April, never mind from Sony for less priority market.
