Tell me the connection bandwidth you see after you dial on ur pc. Is it 115 kbps as most others get? |

Hi dude, How are you?
On PC I get speed above 80kbps. But the speed drops to 50-60kbps in day time as the network traffic will be high.
It connects at 921.6kbps

check the let me know. check 3 or 4 times so that u can make out the difference. Try during night, morning, afternoon & evening.

3) Is there any FM radio which can be used via gprs?? In Nokia 6630 there is no FM radio. I love listening to Radio Mirchi & Radio city. Missing on Nokia 6630. Pls help!

This problem is usually browser specific. So you can try by changing ur browser.

Dude do you also connect at 921 kbps ? Do you use any modem initialization string? Is it that only edge phones connect at 921 kbps and normal phones connect at 115 kbps only? |

I used an edge phone to connect to mobile office, but it was at 115.

But Alan, Smasung SGH C200 also has Class 10 GPRS which costs around 4000/- So when buying a phone ONLY to access Airtel GPRS thru this trick, I think 6630 is a costly solution. Ya, 6630 is a great phone if someone make use of all the features in it.
BTW, What is the speed at which a file from PC copies to 6630 via Bluetooth ? On 6600, it's 25KB/s even though my dongle supports much more than that. ie. A 1 MB file takes 40 secs to transfer to 6600.
BTW, I hav heard of PCI GPRS Modem Card that you can install on ur PC for accessing GPRS without a cellphone. Any one having any experience with PCI or PCMCIA GPRS Modems kindly share the experience.
We need to confirm that Sparton's GPRS works on those cards too...

in the windows dialer tab in properties u can set the modem speed from 1200bps to 921600bps its got nothing to do with edge. Its the maximum speed at which the phone adn computer can communicate. As per airtel the maximum speed will not cross 115kbps. |
