Been looking at the pics on the POST A PIC FROM YOUR K750i thread and discovered that the picture files can be 1/2 MB in size.
This means that with 64MB of Memory you can fit approx 128 photos the memory.
No big deal you might think. However my K700i with 41MB can hold approx 328 photos on fine mode and approx 656 photos on normal mode. A step backwards perhaps? I've heard that the K750i has faster menus than the K700i, now I can see why.
The problems start here: How many people will put nothing but photos on their K750i? Not many here I bet. With a range or MIDI / MP3 ringtones, the temptation of putting an entire CD (in MP3 format approx 50MB) plus video clips, sms , themes and 500Kb+ MMS messages from other K750's and Nokia N-series, the memory will be bursting at the seams.
Aah! you say. The K750i has expandable memory - up to 4 GB!
That's true, yes. But the W800i has 8 times the Memory (512MB)
and early indications in NZ are that the prices will be the same - NZD$899.
In a comparison with the W800i then, the K750i should take in to account the extra expense of more memory and the lack of style as it's NOT ORANGE!

K700 came with 41mb internal memory and no external memorysupport.
K750 comes with 34/40mb internal memory that can be used for ringtones, themes, games, etc. + 64mb external memory that can be upgraded depending on needs.
I cant see how that can be a step backwards
The K700 could hold more pictures only because the resolution of the pictures and thus the size was smaller, not because of more memory, if memory is an issue you could just take pictures in VGA like K700 did, then youd have room for more pictures. Or get more/bigger memorycards.
As for the price, yes I find it natural that the W800 should cost approx the same when its launched as the K750 cost today. It will be launched months after the K750 and by that time the K750 will cost less than today and therfore less than the W800 will cost. Remember the phones are tecnically identical, basically only differences are design, different firmware to allow for flightmode, different headset and a bigger memorystick and therefore the difference in cost of the phones shouldent be more than the difference in the value of the accessories. Not everyone thinks that "Orange" is a benefit for the design and not everyone needs/want to use the phone as mp3 player then the internal memory will be plenty for themes, ringtones etc. and the 64mb external memory plenty for photos. I never take more than 128 photos with any of my cameras before I empty the memorycard. I allways transfer the photos to my computer very quickly to look at them properly

@ numb
I'm pleased you found me over here, I thought this was a better thread for this conversation.
I realise that the K700i doesn't take as good pictures as the K750i and that therfore the picture files are smaller.
What I'm talking about is whether a K750i owner may end up wishing he/she had waited for the W800i.
I'm sure everyone has at one time updated thier phone only to find that they liked thier old phone better. I'm speculating that the K750 may be one of those phones.
Not everyone likes Orange, I'll give you that one. I think bright vibrant colours should find thier way onto more S/E phones. |

I like both designs very much, even the orange one
I dont think anyone going from K700 to K750/W800 may end up regretting, because there are some very significant improvements from K700, such as camera, expandable memory, true usb speed, full screen videoplayback and more, but sure everyone has to deside which of the two K750 or W800 they like the most. For me the improvements over K700 are hughe, because they are exactly the ones I have wished for, making an almost perfect K700 to a perfect k750/w800
For someone like me that dont favour any of them over the other, I might as well get the K750 now because its available, instead of waiting for W800. W800 wont give me anything over K750 in terms of technology as they are identical, it will only give me different design.
Im buying a W800 for my wife, she liked the design of W800 better, so in a way I will be getting both anyways
