If I buy my S700i in about 5 weeks time, is the price likely to be dropped a bit by then, and is the firmware likely to be upgraded?
I am buying it from the SE site by the way. |

@Tec9
The price is likely to drop when more networks offer the S700 as competition come sinto play, but I wouldn't think the SIM free price will come down much, if at all.
Since there have been no major bugs reported yet I don't imagine that new firmware will be available within the next five weeks.

Damn, but it is worth £500 right?
Is the video good? The K700i video was a tad shit, especially when objects moved. |

I haven't used the video function very much, but from I've seen it isn't too bad, not great, but not too bad.

Hmm, I should use this oppurtunity, people dont usually reply this frequently.
Is there anything I should know about the S700i which they dont mention on the site.
Mem Stick Duo only goes to 128 right?
What Bluetooth version is it? |

I'm not sure about the Bluetooth version, but I believe it has the standard ten metre range. As has been been stated, almost ad infinitum , the maximum memorystick capacity supported is 128 MB.

I'm getting my S700 tomorrow from Vodafone on an upgrade for £150 on an 18 month contract with 200 mins X network and 250 free texts so the line rental is £30 per month. The things you have to do to get a new phone thats not costing an arm and a leg!!! |

Haha, and you have the privelege of Vodafone putting their crappy red marketing all over it. You've already bought the phone but they still insist on advertising their network.
I said that to a T-Mobile guy once, I was like.
'How do I get this T-Mobile shit out of my phone, I have already bought the phone I don't need them advertising themselves even more. If you look I already got rid of the 'T-Mobile' logo off the cover'
He was like
'Er I dont think you can do that'
I cant wait to get my straight from SE S700i. |

Well I am a pro Vodafone person as IMO they are the best network and I'd much rather have a little Vodafone badge on my phone than pay £500 haha |

Yes I am, but I don't like being a walking advert for a company which is making enough money anyway.
Let's say I have a T610 with T-Mobile adverts burned into it (Those shitty flower pictures)
My friend asks to look at my phone. 'What are these flower pictures in here'
'Oh, those are f*cking etched in there by T-Mobile so I don't forget that I am paying them money every month'
'Really? So what are the tarrifs like?'
And this goes on about me having to explain the tarrifs, thus concluding I am advertising for shitty phone companies.
And I have money to burn. |

Branding has definitely increased over the last few years, I remember when it used to just be Orange that did it, her ein the UK, but ow everyone seems to do it, apart from O2. O2 do add a little branding, but certainly nothing like the other networks do. I wonder if this is a move towards a more Japanese style market where the mobile brand isn't a simportant as the network brand.
