Since everyone is talking about cables, my question is, do i really need one? Right now I connect my phone to my PC and Laptop using IR. What benefits do I get by using a cable instead? Faster ba the connection (editing contacts, etc)? Will surfing on my laptop through GPRS be faster?

@gowin & dan: sorry guys but d gurls wil be comin from boracay too! Now im tryin to get d first flight out on d 27th to make it at 1pm. Cge nxt EB sagot ko 10 na coffee short drips lang ha! Hehe at sana may gprs sa boracay para magamit ko comunicam. Darn i still feel bad na i wont make it sa EB aftr waiting for like a month a aaagh!

@jhermano -- I think the transfer of data via cable should be faster. As for the time zone. Napansin ko nga rin yun. Inurong ko na lang ng GMT+7hrs. |

i have already PMed laffen about it, and out GMT +8 settings are correct. However, they are now using DST, so there a 1 hour difference.

Nagkataon lang na the first EB was held near smartnet, pero we didnt originally thought of having an upgrade activity - it was more of an afterthought.

i remembered seeing a payphone being sold at SOS Pasong Tamo a few years back. I was really tempted to buy it, sayang walang pera. It looks cool e (The model is similar to what bayantel is using for their payphones)

i think there posts on that subject at the technical forum. maybe you can look it up from there? Cable (over other connectivity options) uses less battery power, cheaper than buying an IR adapter or a BT adapter. Sa speed, BT is theoretically faster than cable(serial). I don't have actual performance data on this. (Anyone, arnold?)

@gowin, jhermano, and all filipino posters in this forum: the timezone conversion of laffen includes DST (summertime), and it will not work for us and he does not have the bandwidth to make further changes. so, simply set your time to GMT+7 and that should work. |
