at this point they need to continue going big ... sony's problem has always been brand awareness. they don't market half as much as anyone else. when's the last time you saw a sony commercial for any sony product? not just phones. not to mention, they do not have good relations with carriers in big markets, which is the biggest reason why they don't sell more. out of sight, out of mind as they say.
sony should continue pushing the boundaries with hardware and bringing innovative technologies that will review well on all the big tech blog/review sites. at the very least, it will boost word of mouth marketing for them as tech nerds like us will tell the non-tech folks about it.
sony would have a tough time getting a solid carrier relationship though. they don't have the brand power in the US anymore (for phones) so they are at a disadvantage when it comes to negotiations. it is nice to see that they are selling more in the US though at amazon and bestbuy, for example.

Xperia z2 was ahead of its time unfortunately
Those were the times when most Android manufacturers had removable batteries
One plus debuted with z2 i think... It was a runaway hit
Sonys ads can be seen during uefa champions league tho... And honestly thats the only place i have ever seen sonys ads lol

At least their cameras are well advertised.
The a6400 is made to target vloggers.
They are always inviting important photographers for events.
Adida, LG sells about 50 million units per year. More popular than Sony.
Motorola is the #2 in South America. Moto G is ugly and crappy but still popular.
Any checked the Oct-december sales numbers? |

Interesting. Also he said before that nobody knew what Sony was cooking. Maybe Sony will surprise with a device we'll only see when announced?
But also if the XZ4 renders are midrange what are the XA3 renders? 4 Midrangers in MWC?
I think he's just referring to XA3 case being shown as XZ4 Compact. |

I think it is quite obvious that sony newest flagship will have stereo front speakers, so that tall phone from renders is XA3 succesor. I still believe that selling under-display speakers patent to Samsung & them becoming Sony's new screen supplier is not coincidence. |

This " exchanged as" could mean "mistaken as" ....
It can be true. Maybe the plastic of Poled does not allow sound to go through.
But Sammy only have 8-bit oled, while LG supplies 10.
I hope it does not have the red oled used for Galaxy.
I could think of possibility of the cases being:
Compact = small single cam
" L3" and "XA3" with dual cam
" Ultra" the big one with three cams (regular, ultra wide and tof)
Then "Compact " not at MWC, but just being available at japanese carriers silently like old A series ...
I doubt the would dare to use dual + aube for midranges ...
It would be pretty aggressive move ..

The first leak said two XA were 6" and 6.5".
6" 21:9 is 14cm , just the screen.
With bezels "XA3" would at least be 15,2 cm.
I think "Ultra" was said to be 16,7... Exactly the size from that " Sony Mobile" page.
Wasn't the flaship supposed to be dual selfie?
I went back to mysmartprice... The updated article about 3 no longer has vertical dual cam, but LG style.
They put same photo they used for Ultra.
So, maybe all cases are midranges.

Sony wont release a 3 camera midranger as far as i know
I also read about xz4 being sonys anniversary device or something like that...
I think the 21:9 device from the renders is the real thing |
