Great pics! You live in a beautiful place!

When we see some more of these sunny pics, instead of our snow, mist and dull grey skies, we'll pack our bags and come to visit you

True. I could do with some nice warm spring sunshine now. The cold wind today is horrible and I slipped on the ice. Anyway looking forward to see where it heads next

Okay so I have taken the last set of pics, the paper will be on the move later this week, it's been a long time since I've posted a letter will pay my local postal office a visit between tomorrow and Wednesday.

Will upload the last few pics a little later,it's been an honour to be part of this guys, just wanted to share my bit of the world and I got that chance despite the strange looks I got when I put up a paper to take pics of in a public place today I was in the city, when I was taking pics of the museum I could hear the car guards chatting in seSotho (one of our 11 official languages), one asked the other if I'm a photography student, the other was like "Maybe his a foreigner, look how lite he is" little do they know I understand, my lite skin complexion confuses some, some think I'm mixed race so they only speak English to me, can be a bit frustrating but whatever, it comes with being a lite skinned black dude, this paper thing also had me exploring and noticing areas I never really paid attention to, so thanks a lot!

A few more pics as promised

Some traffic on the highway on the way home from Jobrug central

Something interesting about Gauteng, our Winters are dry, although we did get snow last year, but generally winters are dry, and our summers are wet, so we get a lot of rain, its raining pretty hard as i write this

Took a drive into Sandton which is fast becoming the "The New Johannesburgs City Center"
Here is a fancy hote known as The Micheal Angelo, under it is a few high end bars, clothing shops, clubs and Sandton Mall where we like to do our clothes shopping

Driving through Sandton:

A building that was finished around a year ago in Sandton, it houses a law firm amongst other companies

Next is a few pics of Melrose Arch, not far from Sandton, Melrose is a city in a city, its our own little version of Manhattan i guess??? Its full of top end hotels, restaurants, clothing shops, expensive apartments etc... Its a millionaires little heaven, the perfect place for rich bachelors and young couples who are wealthy, with everything being within walking distance, there are also offices of a few companies in here:

A bit of the old Johannesburg City

The University of Wiwatersrand known simply as Wits, its an Afrikaans name so W is pronounced as V, so its Vits. This is one of its MANY entrances

Nelson Mandela Bridge:

More of old Joburg

And thats it folks

Thanks guys, it's been fun.

Marly

Thanks so much lol, don't forget to bring sunblock "The African sun" is a harsh one

Sean
Yep, some pics were taken with me not even looking at my phone, I just winged it trying to stay focused on the road, what this made me realize is how little parking spaces we have on the side of our roads, I drove around Melrose for 30mins looking for parking, then I just decided to do it while driving

Yep, still have the K850 and it still has fantastic battery life, I can never forget how annoying yet awesome that little thing was.

Rikken

Thanks mate I must say I watched this thread for a while in the past years but I was so afraid I'd lose the paper due to what was our unreliable postal service, it's great to see where the people you talk to on the web are from.

Hans
Thanks so much mate.
I'm on full tank now, but my car is a typical American SUV, it guzzles petrol like there's no tomorrow, if I do well in my studies this year my parents said they may get me a nice small car, fingers crossed for a Mini Cooper, I'd say goodbye to bad fuel economy with that.
