Ok guys,
I've inputted your comments and revised the timeline accordingly.
I've also uploaded a draft of the contest rules.
These are all just starting points lang for everyone's comments.
However may I suggest that we put a deadline to the revisions? Say Friday, 09 August so we can start implementing the plan.

Gowin, amateur lang ako. The last time I played was like 6 years ago. Have to look for a racquet pa.
BTW- The revisions to the timeline are in blue italics. |

mozilla, i think the contest rules are pretty much ok
i already have the image upload in testing. it is the voting that is tricky... can you vote multiple entries with ranking or simple voting? any rules on voting?

arnoldc,
That's good news about the uploading site!
I don't know how're planning to do the online voting though, but how about one of those sites that offer free scripts like Bravenet's votecaster?

maybe the rules should also deal on Intellectual Property (IP) issues.
- who owns the entries after submission?
- distribution rights and public use (non-commercial nature of course, something similar to GPL perhaps?(Author retains ownership of his/her work, but licensees are to make derivative work publicly available) )
-
the rules look good already though.
how about prices? (should fame and recognition be enough?)
Mall Tour/SE phone showcase
- Mall tour ba talaga? Not that I am limiting our options, but can't we just select one location first and see what the reaction is? If this would be a success, it could be made a regular quarterly(?) activity.
- am asking my contact from Globe. I'll post the feedback as soon as I get it.
- Venue negotiations should be handled by our sponsor. Kasama na sa sponsorship tasks nila.

Comments noted, added to rules:
"All winning entries become exclusive properties of and may be used by Philippine SE Users Group
or its successors according to their own discression."
Although strictly speaking the SE group is not yet a legal entity.
How about Semicon & Smartnet? Can anyone approach them too?
As for "mall tour" I agree with Gowin's comments.

I spoke with my contacts at smart and they liked the idea. We just have to formalize our request so they can act on it. Looking good! Le petit prince, i will need your golden signature. :-)

re PSEUG
I think this is the time we assume a legal identity (paging bonito!). Maybe we should consider filing our registration ASAP?
re voting
Simple voting lang. Each registered user is entitled to vote only once for each category.
who's entitled to vote? Sino ang mamamahala ng voter's list natin?
@mozilla re badminton
i got an extra racquet (nothing fancy nga lang). so just bring yourself on satuday if you like to play.
