One thing that has changed with the new firmware:
You can't play audio from the main touch menu anymore. Clicking on the bottom of the screen on the bar where the battery and network indicators are doesn't bring up the audio player. And when you have an audio file playing the bar doesn't glow red anymore. I guess this is to not have audio start playing when the phone is in your pocket. So now to be able to do anything in the touch menu you have to slide it open. A good thing if you ask me

HAHAHA! Solves one problem for me. 2 more to go.
1. Should be able to lock the phone while on call so the "Call End" button is not accidentally touched. Happens a lot while talking with slider closed or with phone in pocket while talking handsfree. Good idea will be to AGAIN disable touch for ending a call .
2. Improve performance for Conversation view. |

The light sensor works really well for me and locks the phone when the slider is closed and in a call. It even works when the phone is pressed to the ear. Was this feature not included in the previous software?

For End Call, wouldn't it be a better option to make the end call tab slide? Like when you answer the phone you have to slide your finger on the answer call tab.
1 feature I would like is having the volume button bring up the clock when pressed if the phone is closed, as it is it does nothing unless the slider is open. |

For those of you with a white aino, do you find that the white model was geared towards women with the pink on the sides? I myself think the white model is pretty nice but is that pink hue really noticeable? I'm guessing it is really faint and depends on the lighting more than anything.
I've white Aino, i've owned it 1 month now, not a single person has noticed that "pink" sides, not even me I just read on a site that it changes colour with light conditions, then i noticed it. it's not pink, but in room light it looks like pink, but it's noticeable at all. It may be green or any other colour with diff light conditions |

Just installed the new software - haven't noticed anything (I didn't have much problems to begin with just some general slowness from while to while)
But yes, the touch works on gmail, bu the menus are too small to use with fingers. I noticed that the touch works on mgmaps as well.
m2kk, what about speed? is it improved or still slow? is Camera improved? |

The light sensor is located to suit the right handers (right ear). It's more bothering when it's in pocket. Anyway, I decided to return this phone. |

Seems a bit better but not that much different. Opera mini 5 is clearly faster(multiple tabs open faster etc.) but this might be down to switching to beta 2 the same time I updated the phone firmware.
I'm not a very keen picture taker - so can't comment on the camera. |

Sorry, but am i getting this right? You can't use the touch menu without having to open the phone?
but that's just.. stupid! do you have to have the keyboard slid out when browing the touch menu in horisontal mode?
hope i'm misunderstanding this.. |

I meant the unlocking on the touch menu. Its like a slider on the screen you have to move to get to the camera, pictures, audio, video etc...
On the previous software you could play audio files just tapping the bottom of the screen - that has gone. Now to do anything you have to unlock it first.
