Not a rumor, but I want to a bring a point about screen quality. In GSMARENA's latest review of the W902, the TFT 262K screen on the W902 has better quality than the 16M OLED screen found on the Armani. This just proves that OLED and 16M doesn't equate to better screens. This is also the case for Japan, where many of the screens there still use 262K TFTs.
 make fake phones?
Now thats a new one.
Of course not x__x" Sony Ericsson doesn't... but Suny Ericsson does.
If you claim that SE has a touchscreen phone for China, show it to us. The only phone I know of that is "sort of touch" is the Z558, which btw wasn't just made for China.

Ahhhhhh, now you see, I said it would be massive!, The X1 is 110mm in length, that Blackberry is 112.5mm. So anyone wanna hazard a guess to the Samsungs length? Brick it is then. |

i have been quietly reading this thread, with duct tape over my mouth, and a hammer over my fingers ...
first i want to say that SE has a following whose loyalty is waning, has been as long as they have been losing money. The lack of phones on the top end is disturbing, to say the least.
SE is capable of ending this camera fad, exmor sensors from sony are easily accessible and are in other camphones from the sony side of the SE company IE japan. they are capable of high pixel density screens (10x7/12x10) im not sure why no one has put a HD screen on a phone yet. its not like ALL of the OLED proto's arent small already, you would think in order to ramp up production and get economies of scale working for the larger displays you would run a plant putting out amazing screens for phones.
storage these days is cheap, and most companies save for nokia and their N97 have stepped up to the plate with a resonable amount of storage. im still looking for 64gb + parallel microsd slots (somethin near 96gb usable) some may say that its excessive, well for you needs it may be however im tired of carrying around everything whevever i go.
networking, it would be nice if my phone could be hub for my home network, something where i could browse my local networks files and use them elsewhere in the home instead of a separate box. use speakers around the house to play music from where ever, stream TV or anything else. it can be done and should be done. sony has the tech, wouldnt hurt shoehorning it in.
lose the smile shutters and the other absent minded tech that doesnt further the industry, look at what apple did as far as design language, everyone is mimmicking their look. i personally hate it however this is one of the strong suits of SE their ability to create fashionable forward lookin devices.
SE needs to stay away from software they would have to develop for, this has been the biggest hurdle for them, in making their phones OS' usable for a new era in mobile tech. A2 is essentially A1 ... with a few upgrades for "hardware"
and finally processing power, the current crop of phones are WOEFULLY under powered ... i understand battery consumption, but somewhere along the line a company has come out with very thrifty processors, Terga/Snap and so forth, it wouldnt hurt to get one of the GHz procs in a phone.
the current situation at SE is like ive stated MANY MANY MANY times, is the lack of foresight, they are too complacent looking at the current competition to evaluate their products so when they come out (later than everyone else already) they are 2 steps behind. it frustrates the companies progress and alienates new users who want the next shiny new toy.
SE needs to stop marginalizing at the top of their spectrum, they need to integrate give a PS3 performance throw everything in and a bucket of water and it will shine through. the X1 is and always has been a bit of a clusterf**k which is probably why SE dropped HTC for their next iteration of the device. the innovation was irrelevant (panels) and the excecution was out of touch.
SE if they cant devote the money R+D to the topend then they are going the way of the moto.
ps: 3.5mm jack ftw. they need a real engineer pushing them past where they think the line should be, and so far they havent shown that. all waiting on MWC are gonna be let down, this board gets too focused and hyped for a trade show, we all know how SE work by now and shouldnt expect too much from SE. i will temper my enthusiasm. |

well said ninja.
Here's hoping SE has heard all our cries over the past year and more and will return to the days of innovation and leadership in mobile phone design and usability.
Hopefully, all the hush hush coming up to MWC is a sign that they have something special in store for us. I certainly hope so. As an SE lover, I have waited and waited, but if there's nothing worthwhile to wait for come MWC, I will turn to the GSM Pre when it's available.
I've got my money on you though SE, don't let me down!

Come on guys, this is the wrong thread for discussion of Samsung - or any other brand for that matter - phones. Please keep the discussion focused on Sony Ericsson rumours.
