Togari will not be the flagship. Is like Galaxy S and Galaxy Note. Galaxy S is the flagship while Galaxy Note is the phablet. |

You can't call every single high end device as "Flagship". Doesn't work that way. Xperia Z is 2013 1st half flagship and i1 the second half flagship. All others are just high end. |

I think the trouble here lies in the definition of flagship.
To me a flagship is the best of the best hardware, in the best selling format and is the poster child of general advertising campaigns. It is the device that carries the flag of the company and should be first in line to represent the brand.
I don't think Togari can be considered a flagship as it isn't going to be a best-seller because of it's size.
Also I don't think a 4"-4.5" device would be used in advertising campaigns other than it's own launch campaign. It's too 2011.
Neither can a camera centric be a flagship as it will be a niche product (no matter how much some here may love it).
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

OK, I would agree with this.
So for a 1H '14 there will be 4.3 inch Honami-like phone (in terms of specs), and a proper Honami successor in 2H. So by your definition of flagship (which I would embrace), 1H will be a high end phone and 2H will be a flagship.
@To members that post questions that I don't discuss;
either I don't have info or I can't share at this moment. But I read all your stuff and will post as soon as I can.

A mini honami doesn't count as a flagship. And I repeat, there is no 4.0 inch high end device. And Ray 3 is a Global device, ask Huiyi.
Second, phablets cannot be considered a flagship so I won't count Togari successor as a flagship device.
Only One Sony 2 counts as a flagship device and as of now the plan is it will come out in March 2014. There is no 1H/2H crap for 2014.

I dont believe Ambivalent is saying there is a high end 4.0 inch device. He is saying the same as zomg that Ray 3 is a mid range device. Otherwise you are all agreeing a high end 4.3 inch phone is coming in Q1
Only they dont believe its Xperia Ray 3

Honami has a damn short shelf life . I thought Honami 2 won't come until almost 2H 2014...

SONY will have all the money if Samsung, Htc and Apple can't beat it's specs in whole 12 month of 2014. I think it's a good thing they released their flagship earlier

Thank you, finger crossed a camera centric phone exists with a different ergonomy, not ruling honami out, but more choice is better.
Also agree that a phablet, camera centric, or smaller version of honami would not be flagship even if high enders.
But the carriers make their own choices for flagship and makers need to live with it.
For instance, Xperia Z, i cannot find it in the shelves already since a few weeks, so what, only 2 month or so of shelf life.
Only Xperia A which is the summer docomo flaship with Galaxy S4.
If Sony releases only one flagship a year, along other high enders, it may not be used as a flaship by carriers for the full year like iphone at softbank, as they could use one of the other high ender, or phones from other makers.
Just to say it blurries the lines of which is the flagship for the end users.

An update on the new SmartWatch III rumours, which I have just read about on The Verge.
"Along with some relatively obvious basics, like that it will run Android, have a capacitive touchscreen, and have a larger screen than the current SmartWatch, it also is supposed to include a smartphone-like three-button interface below the screen and NFC, which would let it pair with phones instantly and then maintain the connection over Bluetooth."
It sounds like a sort of micro-tablet.
