Same here. The bezels almost scream Xperia E3, almost... I also immediately thought of Nokia. On the other hand, how many times leaks were criticized and when it was announced the doubters were proven wrong. But I really don't know this time :/ .

Nearly forgot about the Y-concept. It is a shame that we didn't get a smartphone in the Y-design. Hopefully it isn't shelved, but I'm keeping my hopes in check.

They finally used a new design.... looks exactly like the leaked Tube concept last year

The bezels are as big as always.... its just like a trademark for all Sony's flagships

The camera and flashlight module at the back are quite interesting though. Could it be a laser focus? O.o

I'd love this phone to be able to do 360 videos and with both front and rear camera having 4K capabilities that might even be the case and as mentioned in a previous post the addition of the S-Master digital amp would be the icing on the cake for myself personally.

I always did like the Tube design - it looks like it would be really easy to hold too but it doesn't look particularly thin, quite the opposite in fact. May be it could packing some good new tech inside.

If there is to be a compact version, will this too be even thicker?

I'm guessing this will be made of steel too.

Also, what is it with this back and forth with the speaker placement?
Z2 -> along the edges
Z3 -> in the middle of the bezels
Z5 -> along the edges

Now it is again in the middle of the bezels. I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of people find the Z2 and Z5 solution more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, so this would be again kind of a step back :/ .

I prefer along the edge as you mentioned but it's ok.Almost sure I'm the only one but I prefer frosted glass back to steel.Z5 has the best design for me

I like the design. But why do they have to place the NFC on the front?! That is f***ing retarded. If you want to pay with your nfc you need to have the screen in front of you to be able to type in your pin code.

Wonder if we'll see the same front snapper as found on the XA Ultra 16mp with OIS selfie cam would be great. I've tried out the front camera on the XA Ultra and its incredible with or without the front facing flash.

The phone has a metal back and NFC will not work with any metal in between.

i like the tube concept, but I am not sure about it now looking at that pic.

let's see if they will further enhance it in the succeeding models like the Z series.

Judging by the shot of the headphone jack I'd say the phone to be approx 8.2mm thin which is the same as the Z2 which also had the largest battery capacity of any Sony flagship bar the Premium.

As someone said, it reminds a little bit of Nokia. I definitely love the design of the N9.
I am jumping on the hypewagon too.
