My posts are opinions, I've had the Xperia S, T, Z, Z1 etc and they've all had issues, autofocus, software, heating issues, slow updates etc so that's what I am basing my experience on plus the Z2 does have an overheating issue that's a fact, I also believe in my opinion that the lens/software for the camera isn't up to scratch, lens softness etc bad compression.
As someone has just said on that XDA thread, the glass used for the lens isn't very good, the sensor is being let down by the poor software and lens so that biggish sensor is being let down quite badly, the lens/sensor/software is the same as in the Z1 so in the Z2 you will have the same problems as the Z1 and overheating and issues on top of that from what has been said by many people.
I remember a lot of people where complaining about z1 overheating I have never experience any of it. Same with quality control, I dunno if this is region specific, cuz in Canada we get the C6906 model without any screen lottery supposedly. But other region got model with screen lottery problem but they get extra like free smartwatch or QX10 camera free which makes their deal better. Canada got nothing, with Z1 and 2, not even a cheap ass headphone. I don't consider other company very far ahead as I used to own S3 and Note 2, S3 crashed whenever I copy text, and I was stuck with that problem for almost 6 months until they bother to update it. Note 2 just get laggy and laggier with newer update. Based on a lot of Z2 previews that I saw, Sony seems to be caught up with software features, at least the more useful one. Its the camera side though, they need to slap in the face. Like what the hell are they doing? why are all the image still so compressed? I don't understand why 6 months after launch why didn't they do anything about it. Even S3 jpeg are far less compressed and generally about 30% larger in the same MP shots, not to say S3 capture better shots, cuz the sensor is too tiny. |

Cracked screen, wifi problems, charging problems, Fast battery drain, Contacts disappearing, email problems, overheating and laggy performance.
Are some of the things that I've experienced with my galaxy note 2.
If you want to express your opinion about the Z2.
Please buy or borrow Z2 and show us that you really have it, and then show all the negative things you say about the Z2 to us.
If you do not want to do that, please stop all your bullshit! And buy a samsung or nokia phones, because it looks like you really like samsung so much.
The Z2 will be my first Sony products, because Z2 is the best phone available in the market today. |

why on earth are gsmarena and phonearena not having z2 reviews yet !?! they have more detailed reviews that provide more worthwhile things to discuss. it's understandable for anandtech to take longer but these two sites used to release xperia reviews earlier. the thread seems to have nothing new to discuss so the trolling is thriving.

Ok guys.
As you know I am one of a few users having really the device, as opposed to idiots
who just repeat random cra..p afer other users without any research etc.
But actually the idiocy of frustrated whiners dominated the space,
my need & fun of sharing useful info with future users is spoiled.
I won't put any effort to the community which can't even clean the monkey idiot
who just likes to sh..t on everything to cure frustrations.
I wanted to answer all the possible questions about Z2 but for the moment this activity is freezed.
And you guys keep feeding this poor pus..y.

I understand how you feel Doministry.
I was already thinking of moving this thread to the garbage section. That is where a lot of the posts belong.
Why do you guys keep making such a mess of this thread.
This is for Z2 owners to ask questions and for wannabe owners to check if this phone will fulfill their needs. It is even open for other brand users to give advise if they stick to pure facts.
Keep it clean. Or I'll hit you with my broom.

the z2's photos and videos look the best to me. must be my video player.
the host says galaxy s5 won. i'm not sure if we're seeing the same photos and videos. z2 won that clearly for me again, it must be my video player
z2 had the smoother video with great dynamic range and natural colors. z2 even won the very subject of coping with strong background lighting. she must have based her conclusion by looking at photos and videos on the displays. z2 admittedly has a dimmer display outdoors or in places with strong lighting.
they should've posted the actual full resolution photos and videos so we can all pixel peep. everything looks almost equally good without the pixel peeping (htc not taken into account)

Wow that's a terrible video. They use the Z2 in auto mode (and it actually does quite well), then the HTC is so bad that they use manual controls... shouldn't they be using the HTC's auto settings too if that's what they're comparing? Then the Samsung fires off some awful photos (not as bad as the HTC though) and she says that she thinks it wins? What the ...?

s5

and looks like the s5 also has the blurring issue but nobody will complain about it because they only see xperias.

although i'm not sure if they intentionally made the s5 shots blurry. those photos all look unusually blurry. even the z2's photos are blurry. must be their weather or their kind of unusual lighting.

I too have grown tired of the arguments here and in the past i have been guilty of this myself. But i won't be doing it anymore there's little point and it spoils the threads. Also thinking there's more important things in life to worry about. I used to moan sometimes cos if i had a view on something people would shout back at me i guess cos i can be critical. I can be critical but even i deep down was thinking of buying the Z2 recently after the poor Z1. The Z2 is everything the Z1 should have been and a big improvement. I didn't always moan at everything on Esato despite what some think. So for any past annoyances i apologise. Peace 😊

Compared to what ? And what do you mean by low light ?
1. Low light - no flash - handheld - moving objects or static
2. Low light - flash - handheld - moving objects or static
3. Low light - no flash - tripod - moving objects or static
4. Low light - flash - tripod - moving objects or static
5. Bar/Restaurant/Club - handheld - moving objects or static
6. Bar/Restaurant/Club - tripod - moving objects or static
What exactly do you consider low light environment ?
I can show you good quality photos from a smartphone in some of the low light environment settings mentioned above, and I can show you poor ones in others.. |
