Ah yes... cheers Boinng. Indeed it shows up as an option on mine in 'General'. It's just on 2.1 it was the same, although it had an orange power icon.
And indeed you are right, it's something i had installed called Extended Preferences...which i've now turned off and it's disappeared |

No problems for me with the 2.2 upgrade (not jailbroken). I'd say it was definitely a worthwhile upgrade just for the improvements to Safari - I'm finding it *much* more stable now. Things seem slightly nippier in a few other places, there are some other good additions here and there, and basically I can't fault it at all. In theory, email fetching is more reliable now, and I've seen nothing to disprove that (although the problems there were always very intermittent).

yep - solved. lol. Stupid Extended Prefs applied in Winterboard that i had no use for anyway!
Yeah i think they are smaller. And for apps that have long names the text is now seperated in the middle with '...' ie 'Star...Unleashed' or whatever. |

I do like 2.2 with the exception of the shorter address bar in the browser.
so far 3g reception on the move (i.e. in the train/bus) seems to be alot better and I haven't so far had the long pauses I used to get.
I really like to ability to download podcasts on the go but what is missing here is that the podcast tab in Itunes app doesn't have a tab which shows my subscribed podcasts. THAT would be really useful!

Yeah mainly i just like to have the most up to date firmware to smooth out any potential reception problems. Anything that helps is a bonus. It's good that you've noticed it's holding signal better.
Does your turbo-sim work in the phone now you've updated? |

I haven't actually tested that.
I'll give it a go tonight as I don't have it on me at the mo

Cool it'd be interesting to know if it still works ok.
The only problem i've had thus far with 2.2, is not really an issue with the firmware itself, Intelliscreen is making mail.app crash when trying to load my GMail. It's a known issue with version 2.29 of Intelliscreen, which i think has been sorted in the update of Intelliscreen 2.30 today. It was a problem with the taskbar/statusbar notification icons. You just need to turn them off in IntelliAlerts for the time being.
@NoKia This may have affected you too so just a heads up |

another new cool feature is when u get a voicemail and u click on the phone icon it takes u straight to the voicemail menu as opposed to taking u to wherever you where the last time you closed the app |

also, if you press the home button it takes you to the desktop where you launched the app you were in, but if you press it a second time it takes you to the first desktop page. I do like that too
all in all, not a bad update
