Hey now that the 960i available so is the fw. I dont think it will be to long now befor the moded w960i fw is available for the p1i, for those that prefer the look and keyboard of the p1i with the music player from the 960, youll have the P960i.
I myself however am dying to try the W960i. The flush screen should make it pointless to use the stylus( i only use it for those little buttons in the corner i cant reach). I will miss the keyboard but i think i can manage. The back button isnt a big thing to me, i guess because the p1i was my first se smart phone so i didnt have time to really get use to this like some people who came from thep800i, p900i, w950i, p990i to the p1i. |

The walkman 3.0 software is not "slightly" different, when compared to the P1 media player...its much better. The fact it has a flush touchscreen, also makes it more suited for finger usage.
However, lack of qwerty keyboard, back key, kills it for me...i prefer the P1.
I know which is why that would fall into the software diference which i mentioned. Sure the screen is flush but in terms of music playback does it have any newer hardware than the P1? No
Not even as Dogman pointed out a dedicated music chip. |

I'm still on my P1i though, I really like the design but I hate that you have to press like 10 times harder on the screen for it to respond, and that the "back"-button has been moved to the keyboard..
Can anyone else who has the phone confirm that the touchscreen is not responsive enough as henkeee mentions it ??? thanks ! |

Yep I have to confirm this. It's probably due to the fact that it's made of a more resisting material. At first I was afraid I'd scratch the screen but that doesn't seem to be a problem. You do need to apply more pressure for the touch interface to respond, but one can get used to it. Just don't try using an older p series afterwards ;)) |

Sounds like its similar to how the iPhone works. The first time I played with my friends iphone I found that it wasnt as responsive to touch as my p1i. After playing with it for a while I realized it just needed a little more pressure. Those that have the 960 would you say that the screen is scratch resistant?

No its not similar at all to the iphone. The iphone is responsive at the most gentle touch. Have you used an iphone? It sounds more similar to the LG prada or veiwty. |

I typed that post on an iphone! Yes the phone is responsive however imho it needs a little more pressure than my p1i. only because of the scratch resistance. i tried dabbing my finger on certain icons like i do on the p1i and it wasnt responsive. My friend who was playing with my p1i, who owns the iphone even commented on how much more sensitive my phone was to his. If i put that much pressure on my p1i id need a new screen within a week.
