K800 Firmware Overview |

For those of you who wanted to create a new blog with your K800i and it didn't work because you couldn't release the connection between your phone and your blog (like me):
I found the solution! You have to change your language to English in the dashboard and you will get the "mobile devices" box in the sideboard with a very long string/code that represents the phone that is connected to the blog. You delete the device and the next time you use "send to blog" for a picture from your K800i you get a new token for a new blog...
If your dashboard is set to language German for example, you don't see the "mobile devices" title and can't delete your mobile phone from the blog.
Finally found it! Hope that helps others too. |

bronx,
I believe you have to check the firmware yourself. There is no way we can guess what it is.
As for Phillipines coverage, if it is a K800i, it should be fine. It supports worldwide freq. bands. |

You should've removed your SIM too. I'm surprised that the update completed properly with your SIM still inside the handset; I accidentally forgot to remove my SIM and the update wouldn't complete properly.
Removing the SIM and attempting to update again solved the problem and everything is fine now.

I removed the SIM and have updated again, but I still experience the same problem. Maybe I should've reinstalled the old firmware and waited for the OTA update. Has anyone else installed the EUROPE_1 firmware? Any problems? |

This is a discussion about the K800i firmware(s) - lets keep your problem to your original thread eh? |

Why does everyone keep going on about removing the SIM before updating when the phone wont do anything without it in the handset???
My version is R1CB001, but software version update says it's the most recent version (which is bollocks) and so won't update. If i can't take out the SIM to update and i can't update through the phone service, who am i supposed to update the phone? I can't read 75 pages in the faint hope someone has already answered the question.... |

Again, the R1ED001 is NOT out on SEUS. Any attempt will prove futile regardless of the SIM being inserted or not. You will know when it is out when all the members of the forum here start saying it's out on SEUS... including myself.
The only option currently is to update via. WotanServer/Davinci via. their credit systems. |

Hi all,
I debranded my K800i thre handset and everything went swell. I'm trying to install the msn messenger client that three are offering but am getting a 'operation failed' error. Has anyone else managed to get the msn messenger client working after debranding their three K800i handset?
Just trying to work out if it affectedit somehow.
Cheers

@subzuk
That is the same message I was getting when trying to access the Applications or games folders on the phone memory. Turned out to be a memory corruption which requires re-programming or a new memory etc. Phone has been back to O2 for over 2 weeks now for repair.
It is possible you have some sort of memory access issue. (Note that my handset had never been flashed / debranded so the fault developed and wasnt caused by me).

I will try to reflash my phone using Wotan, hoping it will fix my problem with "Operation failed" when trying to access Applications or Games folder (see other thread).
Newest Wotan client, 0.9.910 from 2006-09-21, has "DB2020 EROM upgrade from R3A011 to R3A016 added".
What is EROM, and do I want or need to upgrade it?
