@mucker
September is the latest rumoured release date going around. Apparently it comes from a couple of European PSP game developers.
Personally, I think only a few people within Sony themselves know. I reckon once demand goes down in the US, they'll start building up enough stocks for the European release. However, when that will be is anyone's guess...

HMV had a date of 3rd of June but that doesn't mean an awful lot.
We've had shops claiming release dates before that have been and gone with no release
My guess is anytime between June and September and in the meantime I'll continue to enjoy my Jap PSP which I've had for four months now!

Well I've finally got Twisted Metal - Head On.
GREAT game!
If u like the TM series then this is a MUST.
Typical gameplay, much like TM Black but all new HUGE levels with a lot of interaction (like destroying the Eiffel Tower!) and a large range of cars with some new & classic originals.
There's also a host of mini games to discover within the levels.
Got it for £26 delivered on Ebay, bargain!

i also recommend the game
i have to say the main reason i bought wipeout was for the web browser. but so did many others!
i hope it comes on monday

Where has that official date come from? I'd heard June 7th but until it comes out we probably won't know for sure.
______________
Also I've had the chance to check out a US PSP yesterday and you need not worry about the screen. It may well be different and cheaper but there's nothing wrong with how it looks, still an amazing screen for sure and no noticeable difference really although I didn't get to display the same image/movie/game etc on each one simultaneously for side-by-side comparison
Being a Yank one it also had Spiderman 2 on UMD.....WOW!!!!!
Absolutely amazing! The video quality is unbelievable and easily better than any portable DVD player I've seen and with the headset on the sound is fantastic!
The movie was Region 1 so unfortunately didn't work on my Jap PSP but the US PSP won't be able to use Region 2 movies which will be sold in Japan and UK. Bring on Region 2 UMD Movies!

The official date came from Sony themselves today:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4481991.stm
Also says on the new Euro Official PSP site:
http://www.yourpsp.com/psp.html
I notice Europeans get a couple of extras in their Value pack: a cloth and demo disk!!
The press release: http://www.yourpsp.com/html/en_GB_press_release.pdf

@ JoolsG4
Thanks for that info
Disappointing as it delays the Euro games too!
BTW, the US Value Pack also has the cloth and Spiderman 2 is in the box with no need to register.
@ ten18
The screen is still good and all games are region free but as the UMD movies are so amazingly good the movie region is a big thing I think.
Glad I have a Jap region 2 one
U can always import US movies for a US PSP though

First time I've heard that and I doubt it.
There is no logical reason that they'd do that. Also if anything Japan would be more likely to get the better one!
