More info about Sony's WP handsets.

MS used to pour money into Nokia for making WP and they had the same offer for Samsung. Do you think they are paying anything to Sony for doing so?

Okay, give me a Sony tab with the tegra k1 denver. Now. Or any tab even...
After 3 hideous generations, Nvidia are back. And they mean business...
1H release date for a15, 2h for denver.
I was wondering what my dream mobile chip setup would be before before this announcement, and I thought 2.5gHz duals with good power and efficiency, well, it seems we got the power at least...

192 coreeeees! LOL! Our phones are going to explode...! I was hoping for something different too! Will see how many actually end up using this monstrous chip
@MartenR
I'll believe it only when I'll see it! I'd prefer Sony to try out Ubuntu (Firefox OS needs a lot of polishing before being on a big name OEM's) on some low/mid end device's!:)
How about dual booting Android and Ubuntu?? SWEET |

So samsung will be apparently launching 4 new tablets, all with kitkat and all with WQXGA resolution, even the 8.4 version. Anything from Sony has to be up to par to this, otherwise the product will fade away into nothingness.
Maybe there won't be any new tabs from sony at CES and instead it will be a copy of last year's move, introduce the new tab in Japan first, then at MWC. Which will be fail. |

I wonder if the name "Z1s" will be the global name for this device personally I think Z1 mini sounds better for the UK market as it instantly tells customers that it is a smaller more compact variant of it big brother Z1s sounds like an upgrade to the Z1 just like how Apple name their own smartphones.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

Guys calm down regarding these 192 cores...
the number does not mean higher performance or higher energy consumption... it's all related to how powerful these cores are and how efficient these cores are...
Just remember how many cores are in Mali-450 MP ( from one to 8 cores ) and how many cores are in Tegra 4 (60 or 72 cores) and how much Mali-450 actually perform compared to Tegra 4...
We just need to wait for real world numbers and see how this GPU will perform... in any cases NVIDIA did some serious optimisation to Kepler cores in order to make them viable in mobile applications, after all Kepler cores were designed for desktop and high performance usage...

Anyway, someone wants to chat today? If yes, is there a new chat room or still just the one from last year? What is a CES without chat ?

I think they don't use Z1 mini to avoid confusion. It's far different from other minis so they don't want people to mix them up. |

Mini is not going to be used because Samsung Mini's are usually much worse than their full versions... so if they call it Z1 Mini, people will think it has much worse specs, just like S4 Mini has a lot worse specs than S4. |

they just launched their cheap tablets, their new ones will be much more expensive like their Note line and probably nobody will buy them.... Only Android tablets that sell well are dirt cheap ones like Tab 7" or even cheaper Chinese ones.
Sony will probably launch new Android tablets thats for sure, but they will likely be premium versions like their Tablet Z.
WQXGA resolutions dont make any sense on small tablets, it is a waste but people just read the specs sheets. Reviewers are not any better when they get impressed with high res Windows hardware thats terrible to use in real life because of too high res.
I do hope Sony also launches competition for new Windows 8.1 tablets, with new Atoms. They seem to be all the range now, with good pricing and great performance. |

Now in LA.
In Sony Mobiles Christmas message they mentioned:
“2014 is going to be an incredible year, we’ve got some truly exciting products coming up, new form factors to explore and more from our wearables team.”
.. could this be a hint at a return to a qwerty slider, maybe with Windows Phone?
