Yes, basically a hybrid between Xperia smartphone and RX100 camera with a 20 megapixel 1 inch sensor. Will blow away the Pureview 808 into a far off Galaxy LOL

Yeah, fixed-lens like the Sony RX-1 not fixed-focus. In other words you can't zoom and will have to move in order to get your desired picture. A Xperia phone with the photographic quality of the RX100 (which is often said to be a near-DSLR quality camera in the size of a point-and-shoot) would be an instabuy from me. |

It would also be expensive as hell ($650 for a regular RX100) and would struggle to retain the dimensions of a modern smartphones. |

Perhaps a range of Cybershot cameras (like the TX55 or TX200 and branded Cybershot NOT Xperia) that run android and have an earpiece/mic and sim card slot is what Sony should release simultaneously to revitalise the compact camera industry and satisfy those who really want a really great camera.

Sony already did that. With the RX100, which has been massively successful and layed the beat-down on a lot of other Compact Camera manufacturers. |

Akira has posted some fan made renders based on the leaked photos of Yuga and the dimens provided by Spectre over on NeoGAF. No time to post 'em here, but here's the link:

Look damned good IMO.

Can Sony risk loss/little profit at the moment by making a (possible) niche product like that :/ ?

I got time @vivftp
Note: Not real renders, just speculative renders based on leaked photographs and rumors. The home screen is based on 4.1 Jelly Bean because of speculation that Sony could be releasing a really light skin, perhaps not even bothering with a skin at all.

Do they? I don't see any of that in any searches I do. I'm talking about a compact camera that has touch-screen phone features and android OS. RX100 isn't that device.

I don't know what you want more...
ODIN & YUGA with this SPECS are just amazing!!! SONY don't need to be shy anymore. They have put in absolute powerful hardware! They can compete easy with the others, but IMO they are already better! They have beat everything what is in the market right now, also the HTC DNA! I can't wait for the announcement!!! They need to release this two monsters fast! Faster than ever! After announcement max 1 month and not 3 months to release... Hope SONY learned something...

Well I would agree with you if Odin/Yuga release would be a matter of days, but fact is that at the time of their expected release (early spring of next year), competition will already be offering A15 quad SOC which will be superior to Sony's S4 (A9 based SOC) so it seems that Sony will continue to lag in terms of SOC.
I sincerely hope this trend ends with Q4 flagship (using NovaThor and PowerVR 6) by which (I believe) Sony could be ahead of competition, demolishing the upcoming Galaxy SIV and Iphone 5S. |

Maybe the final production hardware wasn't finalised (Minor changes in design, optimisations etc.) so they aren't revealing it. Besides, its better to wait till later down the line before officially announcing a product, so the gap between announcement and release isn't ridiculous. They fell into that trap with the Xperia V, and I guess they don't want to repeat that mistake.

The S4 is not A9-based. It uses the ARM v7 instruction set for its architecture. Its not A15, but its signficantly better than A9. And I personally don't see the point fo Quad-Core A15 processors inside a smartphone. Dual A15's at 1.7-2.5GHz is plenty.

Who knows. However, if the phone is optmised well enough to run those 1080p screens at a consistan 60fps (or better) I really couldn't care less how powerful the devices are.

I basically agree with everything you said, optimization is a big deal in terms of final performance, it's just that I would prefer A15 chip because of the sense that I would get a more future proof device, if I would, for instance decided to skip on Odin/Yuga and go for the Q4 '13 flagship.

Guys,
I have remastered the spy pic from android-schweiz.ch
The new enhanced image gives a great view of the Sony Yuga! I can't wait to get this baby in my hands!
