Did you ever see 'Down' , a movie taking place in the Empire State Building, summer 2002 I think?
De Lift is the Dutch original...... about an elevator equippd with an experimental computer (to say the very least) that starts to lead a life of its own.

Well this movie was made early 1980's when Dutchland actually produced quality films.... 
Still, even tho it's a tad out of date, the suspense is excellent 
(personally I still prefer Amsterdamned  )
