Yeah it is a worry when a relatively inexperienced newbie to superbikes forks out under R110 000 for a top-of-the-range, 300km/h missile as some kind of weekend toy...
That amount of power-to-weight ratio at one's disposal demands respect and experience.

About fast cars, no luck for me I'm afraid. Probably a suped-up BMW325i of a friend's back in SA, so no supercar experiences yet, unfortunately.
Almost all the cars I have driven are average, basic sedans/hatchbacks/ family cars.

People are going beserk outside here; The Hammers have pulled off one of the most phenomenal escapes from relegation, by beating ManUre (AGAIN ) at Old Trafford a few minutes ago. So they leapfrog up to 15th.
The fans are all singing "One Carlos Tevez..." an adaptation of that well-known Latino song. (They could give those Bulls fans a run for their money... )
Ex-Charlton boss Alan Curbishley will be sleeping much better tonight.
Well done, West Ham. What an awesome run of form over the final 9 games of the Premiership, in stark contrast to the beginning of the year and the whole Tevez/Machareno debacle rubbing further salt into Hammers' wounds.. It matters nout now.

The fastest 4wheeled vehicle in which i've travelled was an Audi very similar to this one, a year or two ago, before Anthony Taylor switched to BMW. I was fortunate enough to have been one the winners in a radio quiz, and part of the prize involved zooming around the Aldo Scribante track with various drivers. I opted to go with Taylor, seeing that he looked so docile. Big mistake, lol. The dude flung us thru the Firestone Sweep as if the car had been attached to rails!

It was truly an experience discovering just how fast those vehicles can really go when there's a pro at the wheel. I'm telling you guys, after the first lap, as we approached Turn One i was firmly under the impression that he'd start braking when the marker boards came up...

I was convinced that when the 200m board came up he'd simply missed it, and that he'd start braking at 150m which flashed by unheeded... as did 100m and 75m.... next thing we were screaming thru Turn One at something which felt like 950km/h.

Thank heavens for those safety harnesses and helmets, honestly thought he was going to flip the car, lol.

Something interesting which i recall was when he mentioned that the racing slicks are so soft that they chemically bond to the surface of the track during a race, which assists in generating the remarkable speeds at which these guys move...

All in all it was a fantastic experience, one which i'd gladly repeat if i could.

I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

Eish boet, that must've been awesome.
I'm sure the fact that Aldo Scribante happens to be quite a narrow racetrack didn't help to settle any nerves...
Guaranteed cure for constipation, I'm sure.

I had a hair-raising-experience in a suped up tow truck with a driver high on meth who hadnt slept in 4 days(me included) flying to a crash scene, going through red robots, driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic. Was not a happy experience for me.South African tow truck drivers are nut-cases.Nice thing though,is back in my day when I was naughty,he was my meth dealer and delivery was always swift.lol Miss those crazy days but glad to have them behind me.

Yeah, those 'vultures' are nut-cases.
I remember them even featuring in that Toyota ad years ago, with the 'How's your mother?/ Ready for bed ek se..' lines, as they hooked up a rival 'vulture' to a tree before driving off to the 'break-down' scene, where all the dad was doing was letting his son have a pee on the side of the road.

Vultures is too mild for some of those cheap ass rip offs!!!you do get the odd honest one though who will actually not be in it only for the money...by this i mean not try to con you.

Fastest car i've driven was my cousins 550 maranello or maybe it was the 911 turbo lol couldn't really tell but the 550 give's a harder ride and grips better.pity he was with me or i could've had couple more side ways moments .other than that i guess it's an e350 couple seconds slower but very very smooth power delivery and refined.love the audi rs4 but unfortunately haven't had the opportunity.oh btw being a passenger on a R6 with my crazy cousin riding is once experience i dont wanna have again!210 in residential areas is far from fun.trust me.

Da Brixsta's commentary disappeared again..

As regards fast cars and the dangers of excessive speeds, I wonder what the repair bill for this would be...:

Hey guys! Thanks for posting those links to the Paris Hilton petitions…she annoys me, but in my e-mail I tried to be objective about the thing.

Fastest cars? Not driven, but experienced has been a Porsche. I was young, and my friend visited me for the afternoon, and his uncle stopped by and gave us a quick trip around the block in his new second hand Porsche. That was so cool. Then I drove around a lot with my boss and friend Paul in his BMW, and the fastest that he has pulled with me in the car was between 180-190km/h. His normal speed having been 170km/h…some cool races, and at places where it is safe, but at that speed, it is always dangerous. Once we did the last stretch to my place around a rounded onto bridge corner at about +-130km/h, racing some black guys in exactly the same car, but a diesel model, and both of the cars stopped at exactly the same time at the traffic light 100m from the turn as you come off the bridge. Windows flew open and they and us were like: “That was so cool!!!” I almost shut myself, but it was fun! Paul has slowed down a little lately. Good thing.

I used to do sound for a lady who sang, and I always drove her cars when I did sound for her. Always Mercs and Jeeps, but unfortunately automatics. But I must say I enjoyed it. Especially the Jeep, as the one time we were late for a show in Cullinan, and the roads from PTA to there were really narrow, and I had to speed at 160km/h with her urging me on, and her paranoid secretary freaking out. That was scary, since it was my first time driving a Jeep. But it is such a nice vehicle.

My charger has gone missing, but it is so screwed, I need a new one anyway. Think I should get a pirate charger? I mean, even our local Cell Shacks sell only pirates, so I guess I am stuck.

Okay, off to bed. Have a good week, and I will post asap…

@ama - Mornings' or Eveneings

Many thanks for the YOP SPEED report on Bikes . . . my, I was just wonderin' how would the FEEl be hittin the needle at 300 km/h

What happened to Felipe Massa ALSo happened to Michael Schumy some years back . . . I think they had a problem with the nozzle of the gas-hose-pump

Do you have a LINK with that damaged Ferrari car mate I mean . . . I was thinking that it's NOT the only one with a damage like that, considering the hundreds (number) of luxury cars out there [addsig]
