I wish Satio 2 to be an android. That will definitely give it an edge over N8.

My guess is we'll see some high-end stuff in the fall for a christmas release. I'm sure Sony Ericsson wants to capitalize on the X10 products before cannibalizing their own sales with another product announcement.

I also don't expect any high end phones anytime soon except maybe the rumoured full touch walkman phone announced around June.

We probably are going to get high ends in September (announcements) if I were to guess.

Ok guys thanks for this information. So we must wait very longgggg.

I hope, SE also annouce norm phones, not only smartphones. We need successors of C902, C905 and a big clamshell W980 with good cameras and bigger screens!!! Not everybody wants use a touchphone. SE must concentrate to high-end phones and high-end Smartphones. Not these low phones like X10 Mini / Pro, Vivaz, Elm, Hazel....
If I look to the new Samsung Galaxy S, this phone beat the whole portofolio of SE easy, even the new NOKIA N8 can! The X10 is nothing. SE is too slow! But SE has the best Design!!! @ SE please present us some real high-end devices.

Greetings

N8''s camera sensor is its selling point, not the Symbian^3 OS. Unless SE can match the camera it won't have an edge regardless of the OS it uses.

I came across this powerful smartphone U8500 processor by STericsson on youtube.com, and I must say, it is very powerful processor. Tegra and Snapdragon are nothing compared to this one.

Here's the spec:

Features
•Full HD 1080p camcorder, multiple codecs supported
(H264 HP, VC-1, MPEG-4)
•High-resolution, touchscreen display support up to XGA
•Simultaneous dual display support
•High performance 3D graphics, support for
OpenVG 1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0
•Dual camera support with Integrated ISP 18 Mpixel and 5 Mpixel
•Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS enabled platform
•Built-in USB 2.0, HDMI out
•Support for multiple operating systems, Symbian, Android
and Linux-based platforms
•Optional support for mobile TV standards

Technology
•Highly efficient, low-power ARM dual Cortex™- A9 processor
•Dual multimedia DSP for low-power, flexible media processing
•High-bandwidth LP-DDR2 interface
•ARM Mali™ 400 GPU and NEON®CPU extensions
•State-of-the-art HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) Release 7 modem
•Unique audio architecture with a wide range of audio codecs supported
•Advanced power saving architecture enabling class-leading audio and video playback times

It occured to me that this might be the processor of the rumoured Sony and SE device that we have all been waiting for. By just looking at the specs, it is a perfect match to run Playstation Go games. What do you think?

this shall be the next processor on the successor of the feature-packed-for-nothing Satio...

@murderjon touchscreen is a trend so will stick to it but the flip side is is doing it wrongly. nevertheless, must release better smartphones than the feature-packed-for-nothing Satio... BTW, x10 is great! try to have it in your hand for one day...

^Not only that. The Satio successor should also comes with a 3D screen and a 3D camera. Since it is more likely to be released next year, those features just seem right.

Wow! You guys are ambitious, aren't you?

I have a feeling the Satio 2 is probably going to use the same processor as the Vivaz, probably clocked higher than the Vivaz.

I am not convinced of amoled screen advantages over TFT so wouldn't be surprised if the screen only gets a higher resolution. Who knows, maybe SE will be swept by the amoled screen craze and utilise it but to me it offers nothing major in comparison to the lovely TFT.

I love my phones to be legible in the sun and also have realistic colour production indoors.

If they can use super-amoled (which I doubt seeing that Samsung isn't licensing them out yet) then I agree that that screen type is superb from the screen shot I've seen. I have seen a number of amoled screen in person and was never impressed.

^Satio's successor is not the one what Eldar said to compete with N8-00. I believe Satio 2 and Vivas 2 are two different devices.

The Super Amoled screen of Samsung is the best screen as the moment. Not only it produces vivid colors and is very visible in bright conditions, the screen is also "thin," which helps keep a device slim form.

No, I am not even thinking of what Eldar mentioned, I'm merely pointing what I think Satio 2 is likely to be. That is my opinion based on SE's current strategy.

The other possibilities are optical zoom and maybe Wimax.

I wouldn't expect things like 3D screen and a different processor than the current Satio.

I may be wrong but for now that's what I think is likely to happen.

What`s up?
Haven`t been here for a long time.
I see there`s a talk about Satio 2 and Vivaz 2.
Is there anything expected to be improved?
