@siandy
Next release for /8 is likely to bring it on par with generic world version but may or may not happen on the same day as them
That's the price to pay for having a localised version. |

info from swiss manager after booting the phone.
I have 10.8 MB free RAM on the system tab shown
also keep in mind that I have automaticly push email app starting so that takes something like 1.7mb RAM in addition main menu 33k, activity menu 16k, phone 1k, conn mngr 34k ram using so 5 apps are opened default on my phone.
as next step I opened opera.
now it show in tasks as opera using 117k memory without opening any page but system tab show free ram as 7.1 MB
I opened google in opera and free ram went down to 5.5 MB
now trying to open agile messenger
so running task shown as 7 with agile aking 2.8MB memory
free ram is down to 1.8 MB
but web is still open not closed automaticly
went back to opera and made a search in google
free ram is now 1.4 MB
now trying to open notes
now task shown as 8 apps running notes taking 61k ram
and free ram down to 1MB
still able to go back to opera to do search in google
but it makes the free ram go down to 0.7 MB
and agile messenger is still connected.
so how's that.. did it help anyone

Thats actually bad news:( It about the same free ram I get when I start the phone and I have BBC running when I start the phone. But the good news is that you were able to run these apps without them closing.

you can wait amoment and see if there is memory leaking, cause sometimes, RAM constanly go down even u don't open anything. |

I have waited with the above setup for 5 mins. phone went to powersave than opened the screen to see if all the apps stay open. initially they were all still there 8 apps were running. I looked at the agile still connected. went back to swiis to see the memory status than opera suddenly disappeard from running task.
so now 7 tasks running with free mem shoing 4.6MB
so opening quick office now.. opened a new doc and saved it
opened filemanager
running task number is 9 now with free ram down to 3.3 MB
tried to use the reclaim memory button in swiss but freed 0 Ram. so no help there.
anyway thats all for now.
any more questions let me know. |

looks like SE cant improve more ram available for users after booting (as suspected) but only improve crashing out when ram runs low
Its not very good news but better than none. Still N95 and Dopod looks more tempting |

I think it's a lot better now, you can run opera and agile at one time should be good enough. you may wanna try listening to music while browsing and then receive a call or sms |

ok to continue..
I connected to wireless network an tried to open opera it kept saying cant open app I guess not enough memory..
so I shutdown, file manager, quick office etc...
and tried to open opera after it was opened now, but when I try to go to swiss to see the memory status I realised that phone has actually shutdown all the apps including agile and swiss..
so I guess its still not so good with memory management.. |

One more, can u open vijay singh pro golf beside opening music player? cause i think with our fw, we can't even play pro golf smoothly without any other apications open |

this is so stupid.. I try to open vijay golf. it tried it tried screen flashed a cuple of times and said not enough memory so ok that fine but than we you go back you see that while trying it shutdown everything that was open before..
so if it shuts it all down why is it still not able to start..
this is very basic memory management. I reall can not belive it.
finaly after a number of tries vijay golf has started.
when vijay is open it takes up so much ram only 1.4 Mb left so no room for my push mail app..
the best part of all this is that phone has not even once restarted due to memory problems..

As you understand the @ way of posting can you please try and avoid quoting in every post in fact can everyone please try and stop this habit. Many visit via Mobile Devices and it is very annoying both in waiting for it to load and having to scroll through it all. Also it is unnecessary most of the time when its directly above or even on the same page. This was brought to my attention by Johnex i am just supporting his campaign.

Didn't realise you have become a mod. I also browse via html lite on my phone, and it doesn't bother me when people quote other posts.

for sure, like predicted before... no much improvement, just better memory management.... why is the pro golf given to us by SE if we can't even play it? just to show how dumb this phone? i can't even imagine to use it for long period of time ... |
