Thanks, @wanqa. It's a pity I missed out on some of the more interesting discussions you guys were having. I did take the time to read some of them even though I was too busy studying to reply. Browsing on Esato brought me sweet respite from all that studying.

I don't really follow TV series much, but Prison Break has me hooked to an extent.
For those who are impatient as to what is going to happen next, one can browse through the 'recaps' commentary of each series (except obviously the new series 3) on the Fox site:

So today launched the P1 (aka P700), T650 in blue or green and the entry level T250.

Just updated the latest firmware on my P990i.Used my 6680 as a modem and suprisingly with 3G it took me a measly 20 minutes. Was quite suprised.Everything went smoothly(was a bit daunting doing it for the first time especially as I was using my other cellphone as a modem and you know how erratic the Vodacom network can be).All I can say if you have this phone,do this as soon as you can.It has speeded up the phone considerably.Operamini used to take an age to load, know its almost instantaneous as is everything else.Quite impressed.Feels so much smoother. You can now get a nice rhythem going as everything responds the way you'd expect it to.Can also now run a great deal of things simultanneously with ease.Great work SE.Pity the phone never got released with this firmware. Its got such bad reviews when in actual fact with this recent firmware update its actually a hell of a phone. |

@786KBR Congrats on your E61i.I loved the E61 so I can just imagine what the 'i' has done to that beauty.
My favourite series must be 'Bones'.Love it.Pity the series ended here just recently.Hope SABC buy the next one.It ended on quite a high.Remember MNET aired the pretender once and just when it was getting intensely exciting and the series came to an end, they never bought the next season and I never ever got to see what ever happened.By the way if anyone ever got to see the rest of that series,Did he ever find his mother? Cool announcements from last night, so far the best out of the lot seems to be the T650 (thought they had killed off the T-series?).
@HOBBS: I think The Pretender got cancelled by the network in the US on which it originally.

I like the new SE P1.Its like one reviewer said,'An upgraded P990 in a M600 form factor.' Its 25% smaller than P990(think thats cool, can fit in your pocket without been uncomfortable.) Has 128mb TOTAL RAM,80mb FREE(now that ROCKS! Me(P990) and Falcon(N95) have plus/minus 16-20mb free RAM after start-up,so thats a MAJOR STEP-UP.) @ wanga-No 5mp cam but like they say size doesnt matter hey lol.My P990 is pretty good so with an extra pixel thrown in there should make it a little sweeter.MY VERDICT-THUMBS UP.I Personally think P910 fans will never be happy.Eventhough technology has rumbled forward, that phone set a benchmark for them and it cannot be reached eventhough you have a ton of extra goodies. |

Yeah, I think the fact that I still use my 3+ years-old P900 daily is testimony to that.
Size may not be everything, but 'better' specs/numbers will obviously always influence sales, whether there are marginal differences or not.
However, if someone said to me to choose between the 5mp, GPS-equipped N95 and the P1 (if the f/w is stable and sorted like your P990 is now), methinks I'd opt for the latter. That's how much I enjoy UIQ and I'm sure the cam would suffice for my needs, at this stage anyway.

I also like the P1 look, and the S500 does not look too bad. I would go for the P1 probably. Still a year till upgrade...so when the day comes, what will it be? what will it be-eee-eee!?!
Favourite TV shows? Um, I can't choose. I am watching 24 at the moment, and it is not bad. I watch Lost, which is quite enjoyable for me, Battlestar Galactica is obviously up there somewhere. House is also really great. Other shows I like is Firefly(Great Sci-Fi) and Smallville. And lets not forget the CSIs. But I only religiously follow a few of these shows. Life is too busy.
@ Hobbs, I never saw Bones, but according to Wikipedia it has been renewed for a 3rd season, and the 2nd season is currently at episode 20(which happens to be on tonight, but it is in the USA) If you want an episode list, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bones_episodes , but beware, they might spoil future episodes for you.

eish, i hardly watch tv, not even the news. If not for the fact that without it i wouldn't be able watch a good movie now and then, i wouldn't watch it at all.
The prospects of an amiable ending to the looming public sector strike seem to be dwindling.... things look bleak on my side of the world, hope it doesn't have too severe an impact on things like hospital service, exams, etc |

I'm not usually the one to plug mobile networks but have to give props to Virgin Mobile. They've got a nice deal on a P990i adn W300i if you sign a post-paid contract with R150 worth of airtime over two years and 20 sms per month. You also get return domestic ticket (they don't specify the airline).
All this for only R356/month.
BTW mario has wasted no time in rubbishing SE's latest attempt at a smartphone claiming that it does not have WiFi G which means that it's only use would be as a door stop as opposed to the N95 which is the uber phone, not to speak of the N97
If you don't believe me check out the board on prodigits where the P1i us being discussed.

Dont want to get into all that. All I can say is,its all about that extra RAM for me BABY.80 free megabobs of that precious stuff.*salivates* lol
@Francious Believe me in a year when your contract ends they will have a phone that can teleport you to any destination within the country.Screw Mango or those other cheapo airlines. You'll be flying Vodacom...MTN....maybe even Cell C if they have the infrastructure.LOL |
