Nokia announced a brace of low end phones yesterday, one of them now having the distinction of being the thinnest Nokia to date, at 9.9mm:

@HOBBS: hey man, had a play with the N95 the other day, and i've gotta say i was shocked with the slide mechanism. Extremely wobbly. The phone isn't that fast. (thought my m600i was faster). Personally the lack of a touchscreen and the sony ericsson interface makes it pale in comparison to the p990i. The gps might come in handy, but u can always get a garmin solution for ur p990i and the battery will last a lot longer. The biggest disappointment for me was the slow camera. Too slow to be useful imo.
@786kbr: the w880i is a cool device. Just wait till your sister gets accustomed to the se interface. She'll love it. I was surprised at how small and light the phone is. Usually slim phones are either too long or too wide. This one is perfect size. Anyway, SE announcement this week. Lets wait and see whats up their sleeves. |

Personally I think the W880i is overrated.
I'd agree that it's a great size and it certainly looks the biz, but that's it IMHO.
I haven't fiddled with the new W610i yet, but it looks to be a better option (specs-wise) if people are happy to put up with an extra 5mm in girth.

If you're connected to HSDPA and running GPS off the N95 what's the battery life like? The other day I played with a colleague's N93 and with all new gadgets landing in my grubby palms I highly impressed, perhaps not with the overall size...Althoug it could fit into the front jean pocket.

@jitesraq-Hows your M660i doing? Are you still loving it? Havent gotten my hands on the N95 yet but as soon as I do I'll tell you what I think of it.I just dont like slider phones fullstop.Or clamshells.Like my phone to feel solid.Dont like things to rattle or sqeak.Drives me nuts.
Hope everyone is having a coooooooooooooooool weekend. |

Cool, things are looking good for the two SA Super 14 teams.Sharks are top of the table which means a home semi final for them. The Bulls looks like they also going for a home semi final but they have to win with 72 points.First half over and they have already scored 5 tries and need to score another 38 points and hope that the Reds dont score.Wouldnt it be nice to finally have a SA side taking the Super 14 title for a change.Have to admit we gonna have a kick-ass Bok side this year.Watch out England. The Green machine are coming. |

That was a fairy-tale of a game. The Bulls have achieved a home semi-final by scoring 13 tries and ending the game 90-3.Needed 72.Got 87.Absolutely awesome game of rugby. |

What a fantastic result. The one Kiwi supply/relief teacher that works with me is a big Blues fan... look forward to hearing his verdict of proceedings this weekend. He's a decent enough bloke though, not really arrogant. Actually, the vast majority of Kiwis that I have met here are really pleasant, decent people. It's bril to see some SA sides do so well in The Super 14, instead of the usual Canterbury Crusaders, Auckland Blues, etc.

@ Jojo: It was taken at 7:20pm. That's what I dig about the UK summers: late sunsets and (usually)nice weather. (as opposed to the winters...!) I'd agree that that N73 pic isn't the sharpest though. Would love to do a pic-taking comparison with the N73 and N95..

@ama - I'm certain that the N95 captured images will win

@ Jojo,
Yup, no doubt about that. Still, I'm very curious to see just how much better the N95's camera is.
If I had to choose either a N73 or N95, of course I would choose the bulkier-yet-shorter N95, due to my penchant for cellphone photography and of course all the other features that the N95 boasts.
Now obviously pixels is but just one aspect of the cellphone cam, but nevertheless from pics that I've seen uploaded on this site and on others like mobile-review, gsmarena etc, the N95 will take some beating...
I really hope unveil a worthy contestant to The Dark Side's flagship phone in the not-too-distant future...
Sofia, Sofia where for art thou, Sofia...?

Sophia Loren is indeed old(er) now, but let's hope the Sofia in this link isn't too 'old' by the time it actually is announced and/or made available to the public...:

@ Jojo,
LOL, I was joking too...and I guess I fell asleep sooner than you thought!
I've got up relatively early this morning (by my standards for a Sunday...) to watch the Motorcycle GP live from Shanghai. The top 18 places were covered by less than 3 seconds...!
Have a great day, Jojo.
