Brix, there is something I don't understand about the download speed ! Can it really be so high ? While the network seem to support it,certailly the cellphone does not ! Or do I have the wrong specs ? Or the network uses file compression ? Do you know the 6230 edge specs ? Do different firmware support higher speeds then originally stated ? Greetings from Jeffreysbay :-)

If your MTN handsets displays YELLO BROADBAND for Cell broadcast. It means that bstation is edge enabled. With edge you can not do Video calls on a phone but maybe via a web cam.....Vodacom is also rolling out edge but spending more on 3G.Vodacom wants to cover where ever it has 2g with 3G in 18 months. This can be achieved before 18 months.

@Tahir: Weren't you the same one who said on here that MTN were struggling to roll out EDGE...if they've got it in a place like J-Bay it surel means it's available nationwide.

@Brix.I did not say MTN is battling to roll out EDGE.I said they where taking to long to launch it.EDGE only works on MTN if your Cellbroadcast displays YELLO BROADBAND.Vodacom has 3G in JBAY

@Tahir: The 7650 is a certified "classic"... Nokia's first camphone, first Symbian phone, first true slider, colour screen and the first which featured BT.

@Tahir First of all there is no 3G in Jeffreysbay ! As soon as it will become available I will get me the datacard. Also only half of the town has got adsl.I HOPE to get 3G in september. As a matter of fact very few towns in South Africa under 50000 people got 3g. On the second subject - Yes I will be upgrading shortly to a 6680, although now the N90 looks more attractive! On the other hand the old 7650 does more than some non smart brand new models can do ! File sharing (irc, jabber) and chess to name but just 2 programs out of over 1000 (or is it 10000 by now) which I use most. I like the features of the new smart phones, but will I really use them to get back the value I've spendet?

Don't see the need for acquiring a 3G datacard if you're going to be at home 90% of the time...just get ADSL...or maybe you don't want to further enrich Telkom...either way they're getting your cash as own both companies.

Adsl is only available to about 30% of J-bay as from feb this year (293xxxx nr). The rest only get it in 2006 ! I don't need high data volume, what I need is high download speed for a short period.Above 100-150 kbps and 'I am in business'. What do you think about the new N-series from Nokia ?

Like I said before Nokia will rush the N-series to stores to beat the competition like the W800i but I don't think any phone can match the iPod as a style accessory.

LOL@Rhino... Never thought it would be worth paying for...what they basically did is create a portal for their subscribers that would make getting content much easier...albeit at a ridiculous.
