Exactly.
SE broke a lot of hearts with the P990 fiasco.
They really can't afford to lose whatever's left of their smartphone userbase, yet they sail on regardless on their self-destructive course.
Looks like our letter fell on deaf ears.

well the delay might be because they want to ensure that what happened with P990 wont happen for P5 at least we might have a device thats worth the wait |

Well if you think there's just one device tested you're VERY wrong. There are at least two devices, and after the testing its decided which one to bring to the market.
Btw,I know why they are delaying the announcement. They read about the two-way-slide-on-just-one-surface type keyboard which I invented and now they are implementing it into the phone!
Thats good and bad - best kb for P5i,but I shouldof patented it first.

OK, I can't tell if you're joking or serious...
...But if you're serious, I'm glad SE is going with that design concept. Very unique and classy. |

cool i would love to see it in a two way sliding but i would more like to have the ability to use the phone and all of its functions as if it was built to be used in landscape mode and a touch only device so it would have a QWERTY keyboard on the surface |

Yeah, guys but also remember that this "conscious" part of users it's just 1% of Pseries buyers. 99% never write a post, never look at the forum. They just buy a new or "superb" device or take the Mobile operator's offer. Turn it.on and use it, usually in a simple way.
Anyway, maybe SE has a good solution.
Or they struggle from others attack, like Nokia, or iPhone hype. |

I think SE does struggle with the UI. It's just changing too fast and too soon. P990i would not had been delayed if UIQ3 was not buggy. I know there's manufacturing issues also, but the main was the interface. Just hoping this is not the drawback of the new phones.
the new CEO goes into power this month right? May be he decided to change something of the new rounds and pushed for next year. I don't think SE would want to announce something superb right now and kill their end-of-year sells. They know that we will get hype up and decided to wait until the phones go on sale. |

sounds pretty fishy ... i just tell you, that you can sue them
because the time of your publification matters - if your publification was made befor their entry as a patent, you are going to win
and a company would never dare to take this risks.... |

kenx3000 :
UI problems is most probably not the issue maybe it needs a bit tweaks but no mediocre changes as PK previously said that the UI is really well Done and as a lot of good sources are saying that its actually a hardware changes
moreover i heard on the net that other than PK there was another tester of the handset but he had a different hardware maybe there initially was two kinds of prototypes one with QWERTY and one with regular keypad and both experiences probably turned out good and now they are integrating both possibilities as Samsung did with their F520 (i meant just the mechanic itself the dual slide as you all mentioned it)
and as for patenting isnt all sliding forms already have been patented ?? |

this picture makes the P5i looks like it is as thin as W910i ?? plus it seems to resemble it a lot ( i meant P5i not just sealover's concept)
BTW really nice concept with the red background |

OK, I gotta admit, I've been contemplating getting the Nokia N82 as a stopgap and then picking up the P5i whenever it's released, but that PhotoShop is incredible...and a 9.5, too.
I'll wait. I don't want to, especially with no date set in stone, but I will.
I need this phone. |
