whether there will be a release at the same time for /8 version (chinese enabled), I do not think anyone here has the answer. you would have to just wait and see.
there are 2 versions on sale in Singapore, /2 - Generic World 2 and /8 Chinese enabled. |

When I got mine (with chinese enabled version) I managed to upgrade firmware using SEUS to R7. Have you try updating from uk site instead. It might go thru.

1 - he said he can open opera, pdf + and quickoffice at same time...that can´t be done right now, no way.
2 - with swiss manager pro you can avoid closing apps on powersave, the ones you want - but this should be provided by SE...anyway, it can be done easily

I can open opera, pdf+ and quickoffice right now the question is it loaded?? did he just open them?? or did he open files in them? and browsed the web
since he is not a long time user for the p990 and doesn’t look like he have files yet
I can open them without loading files and browsing BIG difference.

those 3 wont load at same time even without loading files right now...when i start pdf+ the other 2 go down...so even so, it does mean something...but we need more data |

Those apps may be running now. But the real usability is when you try to use any of those 3 after half day normal phone usage, say 1. phone call, 2. contacts & 3. message. By mid day these basic phone apps would have zapped up the initial boot-up ram. Try opera, & office after these basic phone apps.
Long story short, we should not be "suffering" these memory leaks to start off with from the very 1st day P990i is available. After 1 full year of waiting, we are waiting again for better firmware??? Wat a smartphone tis is becoming. |

siandy is refering to organizer version not phone version
/8 lags behind /2. although phone version is upgrade to R7, organizer version stayed at R2A05 |

As you understand the @ way of posting can you please try and avoid quoting in every post in fact can everyone please try and stop this habit. Many visit via Mobile Devices and it is very annoying both in waiting for it to load and having to scroll through it all. Also it is unnecessary most of the time when its directly above or even on the same page. This was brought to my attention by Johnex i am just supporting his campaign.

@dogmann; agreed and I support the minimal use of re-quoting. Scrolling thru even using the laptop can be very tiresome and annoying.
@tankee; i stand corrected. I wasn't paying much attention to the organiser version. Thought the phone firmware version was more important.

What i mean is organizer version it's still R2. and i just realize that there is too ver of singapore ver? how to check it? is that really upgarading from uk sites would be usefull? my phnoe fw has already R7.... |

look at the CDA details. yours should be "CDA 162007/8". the /8 is the chinese enabled version.
you can update your firmware via SEUS, however, what you have is already the most current for /8 |

about the firmware, i think people just watch the header and they will know wheter the new firmware is released or not.... at the forum you may repeat as many as you want as long as anyone anwer it, right? cheerss and peace

Apologies if i did its just getting really annoying on the forum at the moment everyone is always quoteing sometimes 2 or 3 quotes and they are right above. I have given the reasons why it is more considerate to fellow users and agree with Johnex it should stop.Just trying to do my bit and bring it to peoples attention.
