Hello everybody, a question: does anybody know what the original Ericsson Mobile hompage looked like, before the jointventure with Sony? I mean, did they have a page, like others today where they showed the phones they wanted to sell?
Just for curiosity

Took two pictures of the T68 protos. One from the side and the slides are the same for the sharkfin and the white protos as you noticed @103ssv. The other photo is from the back to show how that looks like.
So in the stack the sharkfin is bottom, the white in the middle and a regular T68 P1F proto on top.
From the back the white is in the middle and the regular proto on top.

I have another strange prototype. It is from 1994. It's an AMPS device with flip
and pull-out antenna. It is a very plastic feeling. It was made in RTP.
I have no code name or real name or any other information.
Anyone have an idea about the phone?

Hi Tor
From the looks of the phone I would say it's an old Samsung or NEC instead of an Ericsson |

Just changed my home phone from the T700 to the Cute T20
Had a hard time choosing between the T20, T28 and the R320. Thinking the R380 being way to clumsy as a plain phone.
Also got me that watch we was given from the Ericsson company as a thank for overtime work in order to supply Ericsson with parts for the 3G hype. Bought it for a bakery from one of the works vending machines, a fancy bakery.
Sadly the watch is no longer working, at least the glass is unbricked, my original watch got it's glass broken within days after getting it. |

@torshammer: I have never seen that black flip phone, very interesting but it has not that beauty and ellegance of a normal Ericsson phone Anyway I would put it in my glass cabinet if I had one
@Fafne: Cool T20! I have a Ericsson watch too, it does not work either Why did you prefer the T20 to the T28s?
@103ssv: I always liked the design of those GH688 Flip versions!
my latest update:
GH218 Dummy
DH318 TEMS (my first TEMS phone)
Satellite Proto

Hi, my first post.
CALLING OUT TO ALL ERICSSON TECH GUYS!!
I need help with my Ericsson S868! I've just bought it. It works, I have a new battery and the phone is unlocked. The problem is, when I switch it on, it sometimes does its 3 beeps and displays the operator's name. But it's started displaying "searching" on the screen for a while, then displaying "no access". When it says no access, it still shows plenty of signal strength.
I have read on the net about it, and this seems to be a fairly common problem with Ericsson and some Sony Ericsson phones. People have said it's likely to be a problem with the RF Modulator (antenna?) inside the phone. I'm assuming this part is faulty and needs attention/replacement. As this phone dates from 1998, parts for it are of course very scarce, and my local phone shops are unable to repair it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me if they know of anyone in the UK who can repair Ericsson phones?
Any help will be massively appreciated!
Thanks. |
